Please provide an email to forum users with violation and explanations of disciplinary action
Recently, I was locked out of my account which has since been reinstated. I did not know i was locked out until I went to post. I also had no idea WHY I was locked out as my posts typically do not include INSULTS, CRUDITY, etc...
I reviewed my posts and found one I made on July 29th as having been removed for violating your policy. It was addressed to another poster whose name I mentioned in that post. So I was able to determine the post that was removed for "violating" your policy.
The post:
"That is incorrect Rick. You need to do some research. Undocumented immigrants are able to get vaccinated without having to show documentation. You don't even need to have insurance."
Now... there was nothing in that post that was in violation of your policies as far as I can tell. I did some research prior to making my post and so it not misinformation nor was it overtly rude of offensive so fail to see how THIS post was in violation of your policies.
Since this is a FEEDBACK forum, rather than try to argue your rationale for the action towards my account on this circumstance, I would prefer to use this as a means to offer some constructive feedback.
Could you alert users when an action needs to be taken, what the offending post is and how it violated your rules? Without understanding WHAT rule the user has violated, it makes it hard to know how users should change their conduct. Without such an explanation, actions taken in their absence is what feeds the idea circulating that AOL is one of many platforms resorting to censorship. If you feel that is NOT what AOL is doing, then in the name of transparency, it would be wise to provide the posting violation and the reason for the disciplinary action to betake. People DO want a cleaned up platform but going to far in the other direction from NO regulation to overly controlled and seemingly arbitrary regulation is something I would think AOL would want to avoid.
