While on the phone with an AOL tech to fix a problem coordinating my email with my devices, a different voice cuts in claiming they were an OAL security rep and I had just been hacked and that my computer was now wide open to all the bad guys and that it was imperative immediately to address it. Very convincing. He ended taking over my computer and tried to sell me some machine to fix the issue. I finally figured out that this was a bad guy. I called back AOL tech support and asked to speak to a manager. No, he would take care of it. I could barely understand him and he saw no emergency there. A HACKER CUT INTO OUR CONVERSATION! I demanded to speak to leader to listen. No result. A terrible experience. I,ve been with AOL for over 20 years and lately I’ve has nothing but problems. But this was the worst. It’s hard to switch over, but I’ve lost confidence. Maybe someone who cares will read this. Who knows.
