Please go back to Classic email. Why do you mess with what is already good? I do not have the time or interest for you to experiment on.
Stop using this format. Take a step back and fix your mistakes.

Well, I just saw that my e-mail reverted back to the former version! (I had set up a separate Old Mail Folder for myself, was lamenting the loss of the other Old Mail Folder, and then saw that AOL went back to the previous version of separating mail). I am hoping that is the case. If it is really back to what it was, I have to take back what I said about AOL being non-responsive and say, THANK YOU!

Why would people need an Old Mail folder? Because while the message has been read, there is a reason to keep the documentation. For instance, I place an order and get a message that the package has been sent. It doesn't need to stay in my New Mail, or Unread Mail, or Inbox. But, I need the documentation in case something happens and I don't get the package. What if I accidentally "read" it but forget to "Mark as Unread" or "Save" it? There is no way to retrieve it. I have also commented about other examples (such as for tax purposes) that one might need records or documentation of e-mail contacts. I am getting close to just figuring out that AOL is not going to respond to the needs of its users. Maybe the purpose of all these changes is to just have AOL users to move to another venue so that they can shut AOL down? The unresponsiveness is disturbing.

I totally agree with the comments of the major ***** up of removing the Read, Unread, and Old Mail folders.

So, I used to be able to go into my Old Mail folder in order to get documentation about expenditures for my taxes--it used to be able to do a search to find those items. Now, those files are gone! This really stinks. Also, I can't find records from former contacts that indicate discussions that are important to my business and tax records. This was a horrible idea to change things without notice or options to manage the folders. And, I am paying for this service??? Ridiculous. These recent changes are bad.

Why doesn't AOL have a user forum to ask the actual e-mail users what we think of these new or proposed changes BEFORE changing things? I am getting to the point that I am just going to use a different e-mail server.

I agree with Dan Cochrane. Bring back the old folders so we can find our Old Mail that has been read but we need to have a record of it.

Emails that have been read should automatically go into an "Old Mail" file.

What happened to the "Old Mail" folder? And, why did you remove the "Mark as Unread" icon at the top of the e-mail window? The latter creates an extra step (you have to click on the 3 dots and then click "Mark as Unread." Changing the name of "Recently Deleted" to "Trash" may be minor. What is a problem is that this update came with no warning. And, you haven't fixed the problems with the earlier updates. Why not ask some actual AOL users what they think of proposed changes?

The Old Mail folder and Recently Deleted just disappeared. I don't want my mail remaining in the inbox (too cluttered!!), and I don't want to send it to trash just to get it out of the way. I may want to read it later, but I don't want it cluttering up the inbox!! Please put it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just had your new "inbox" without "old mail" format inflicted on me. It's awful! Please reverf back to the new mail/old mail folde system! As now configured, the inbox folder is overloaded with stuff I have seen and don't need to have in front of me.
In addition, I keep having memory leaks in AOL that are crashing my browser. I don't know if it's related or not, but you've combined two large folders into one and that can't be helping! -

Please make an option to switch the email back to the classic format. That way it leaves user who prefer the new system and many who used the classic system a choice. I see many current user do not like the new format...I don't like it either and want the old format back.
PLEASE BRING THE CLASSIC EMAIL FORMAT BACK...make an option to switch between new versus classic...other websites do this and it is not hard to code.

Before changing, please give us a choice on how we wish to receive or mail. This form is not right. Old mail mixed in with new. Please return to what we had.

The update from March 26, 2026, is only a step backward. Please revert to the old version immediately. I've been using AOL for many years. Of course, there are always updates, but what's been done here makes absolutely no sense. Everything is crammed into one large mailbox. While you can sort by unread items, there's no further subdivision by day or time. Furthermore, previously, an email that had already been read and then marked as new wasn't displayed in bold, as if it were a brand new email that had never been read. Even the unread mailbox alone is pointless. What's the point of creating separate folders if everything ends up in one big mailbox anyway?
