AOL does not update
I will see that I have a new email, but when I click on "new mail" nothing shows UNLESS I go up to the "refresh button" on my browser. THEN the new mail will show. Very bad web design.
Hi. Fix problems when an AOL website isn't working:
Start with the first step, then see if your problem is resolved before moving on to the next.
Clear your browser's cache.
Update your browser.
Restart your computer.
Make sure that JavaScript is enabled.
Disable browser enhancements.
Temporarily disable antivirus, antispyware, and firewall products.
See if the AOL service works from another computer or mobile device.
Reset your browser to default settings.
If you need additional help, please contact us on Twitter at @AOLSupportHelp or on Facebook at our AOL Customer Care page. If you do not have a social media account, we are available at help.aol.com.
Thank you,
AOL team

When I open mail, it jumps to a reply. I didn't click reply but there it is. This is a real pain. FIX IT!!! If I want to reply, I have to read the email first.

They ask for feedback, but they do nothing about it. No one asked for a different aol mail. They just mucked it up.

Where do I start? How much room have I got? I doubt you will return to the old AOL email interface so you need to fix the new one. Here are just some of the main problems I am experiencing:
- much much slower than it was before and seems to be getting worse
- easy to miss attachments now they are at the bottom and not at the top. This makes things harder work and I am missing important info. Senders don't always mention there is an attachment. Put attachments back at the top, or make it much more obvious that there are attachments
- much much much more difficult to work on multiple emails at once because they are not in separate windows, but in tabs, so you can only look at one at a time. Please bring back the ability to have emails in separate windows,
- the Compact window option when composing a new message is far too small
- spellcheck randomly sometimes does not work - it just does nothing
- get rid of the annoying separation of emails by date/week/month. Takes up too much space even with a small font and large monitor. Or make it a user option to have it or not
- put the date the email was sent on the left, before or after the sender name, not the right - makes it much easier to find an email from xyz that was sent on date approx abc. In fact make it user configurable.
- very slow to go between tabs or scroll down list of New/Old/sent emails
- with multiple tabs open its hard to tell which is which especially if working on several similar emails
- when moving to (say) the old emails folder from another folder sometimes you find yourselves sitting way down in older emails, and it takes a while for the most recent ones to materialise at the top
- sometimes you see there is a new mail but when you go to the New emails folder it is not there and only logging out and in makes it turn up. Other times you see there are New emails but they are oh so slow to turn up
- very slow going between folders
- limited choice of fonts, colours and font sizes e.g.no navy blue
- emails turning up in Spam from legitimate senders that never used to turn up in Spam and vice versa
- I've had 'Spam' that was actually an email sent from a legitimate sender two years ago (I always keep on top of Spam so know it only just turned up)
- still no counter for emails in Spam unless hovering over it and even then it doesn't always work
- did I mention it was slow? Oh so slow.... and I am allegedly using 0.05% of my space allowance, so what are bigger mailboxes like for others?
- options in settings limited, too much space taken up by Theme. I don't care about Theme, I just want to write emails quickly and easily
- after sending a new email you sometimes seem to end up in a random folder or email which is not where you were before
- why do UK users get US ads? If I must have ads make them region specific
- Related Contacts' - are sometimes not at all related
- get rid of pointless little pics of initials that appear when you start typing a recipient name
THere are other problems to but these are the most annoying -

Mail finally shows, but it takes forever to open. Why can't we have the previous dependable AOL mail instead of this ****?

I should be able to write a message using the enter key in a normal way; i.e., the enter key sends the cursor to start a new line. Currently the enter key is ignored unless you hit it too many times and then the text disappears and I have to start over, forced to write an email in a continuous line. The enter key function should be normal.

Lately when I go to access my AOL mail on my desktop computer, it won't always open any emails. It will let me delete emails from my spam folder but when I click on an email, nothing happens. I just give up after a while and try later to see if the problem has gone away. Ever since the latest changes to AOL mail, it's not behaving the way it used to. Not good for long time users like myself. If this continues to be a problem I will shift over to another email provider like GMAIL or COMCAST.NET.

The vertical scroll bar on the right side of the AOL Mail screen jumps down after accessing any option on the left side of the screen, causing New Mail to scroll up and off-screen, while misleading users to see Yesterday's Mail as New Mai. Please fix this annoying fault.
