Agreed. This is outrageous that AOL promotes banner ads for click throughs that deliver spam/phising connections. I had the same issue, opened in incognito because I didn't trust it, and my antivirus blocked it. Absolutely ridiculous that you would advertise and promote phising links.
What is the matter with you AOL!!!

I clicked on the ad at the top of the list of my new emails a screen opened and told me my pc was locked. Fix it.

I am outraged at what I just experienced with CS/AOL. At the top of my email inbox is an ad banner that you placed there. The banner contained a news headline regarding Lebron James son. I clicked on it and was bombarded with a fake "you have have been infected with a virus" ad to get me to purchase a virus remover. It tried to prevent me from getting back to my browser to delete it! This is the lowest form of spam built into your email service! I want to know what you are going to do about this or I will be reporting this to any and all agencies that oversee the internet.

A fake "news ad" delivered as a line at the top of my inbox list (in free web based AOL) was actually a phishing/trojan link pretending to be "Microsoft Security" wanting me to call an "emergency help line" to unlock my computer ('but don't turn off your machine').
How much do you get paid from the advertiser to deliver Phish?
How can I report the phishing URL to you? Posting it on this forum would be stupid

IF AOL DOESN'T CARE TO LOOK AT THE COMPLAINTS THEN THEY WILL BE REPORTED TO ENTITIES THAT GOVERNS THEM!
