If I did not have so many things connected to this email I would get a new email in a heartbeat. I am surprised an ad did not pop up while I was writing that last sentence. I am already promoting AOL by having the domain name in the email why do they have to force more ads on me. Everyday I get closer and closer to leaving AOL.

UPDATE, posting 7/28/2026. Had around 10 days to 2 weeks where the spam dropped to only a few each day. About 5 days ago, that started increasing. Now it is back to 40 per day and that includes the raunchy stuff again. Either the spammers were on vacation or they figured out a workaround to flood AOL again. *sigh*
=======
Posted Jul 13, 2026...I don't know what's going on, but for the past week or so, I've been checking my spam folder daily and deleting all the spam there. I had been under the impression that the spam emails had to remain there until they were auto-deleted. Perhaps that is wrong? The past several days, hardly any spam has shown up. There have been a few, but one day last week I deleted over 50 in one day. I might be speaking too soon and there's usually been a slowdown during the weekend - but still more than I have been getting the past few days. I'm hoping that AOL has found a way to keep huge numbers of spam from getting through. -

Sandra, I fully agree! I think that AOL encourages this type of spam! They allow it because they get paid even if the email address is obviously fraudulent!

I went from no spam to daily spam. They even use the same subject type constantly. I've created numerous filters, and a new filter each time, but they keep slightly changing the subject to bypass filters. Seriously, fix this you outdated garbage company.

SPAM BLOCKER FOR THE DOMAIN CLICK FOR IT TO BE EASY, AND TO DELETE TOO.
OF COURSE AOL WOULD DO THAT IF THEY CARED BECAUSE IT IS NOT A NEW IDEA SO
ALTHOUGH I ASK FOR IT I KNOW AOL WILL EFFECTIVELY IGNORE IT AND I WISH I KNEW WHY -

I have set my filters for undesirable emails to go to "Trash." However, they are going to Spam. I don't want to do this because I have to monitor the Spam bin for legitimate emails. Can this be achieved? It doesn't appear that the filter setting is working. Please advise.

Explicit email headers and content are delivered to folders in a mailbox. Can these be filtered and removed BEFORE sending on to a user's mailbox?

Filter out OBVIOUS spam before delivering it to my mailbox.

I hate AOL mail. Y'all used to have your act together but taking away the ability to block spam is totally unacceptable. If Gmail is capable of giving me un-spammed content then you should be able to do the same.

Agreed
I never received spam in my AOL email before, and now these ads that you can't even delete.
You added spam and now we have to pay you to block it - is crazy! -

Fix email filter settings. When I created a filter to send emails "from" that start with: "news_" straight to the trash bin, I had the reasonable expectation it would. It has not. The majority of my SPAM is addressed this way. The email filtering could use improvement to dynamically block obvious SPAM and scams There has to be a better way than to block all emails that originate from address outside one's contact list...

I do not know why this is happening, but I cannot Delete all of the Spam for an e-mail address. Maybe one of the super bright coders should fix this. AI coding may not be a good solution.
