stop all the ads, they are blocking when I read news. Very frustrating
stop the ads when reading the news stories on aol. I see a gray box that says advertisement over the story while I am reading. Just a large gray box and it is Very frustrating.

Allowing ads to take up space prevents me from seeing the entire message. How can you charge for email by allowing ads to interfere?
Eliminate the streaming ads on the right side of the screen. These interfere with seeing the entire message one receives and I resent the idea of paying more $ for an email service that allows the ads to interfere with the basic service.

Let users control their AOL mail;
if this isn't possible, the system should be set up to recommend changes. Not just Yahoo/AOL, but most browsers, mail systems, search engines, etc., restrict users from utilizing mail in the way that is intended.

You are turning off internet on your end. Normally financial institutions allow to log in with VPN down and they allow VPN use after. SOme allow logging with VPN on. Your are pompous fascist a^^holes overdoing so called security need. We should be allowed to use VPN to protect our data. . You act as pompous a**holes not caring about users except making yourselves important. This terror of idiots. The complaint to my Congress rep is coming.

Any useful response by AOL to the many comments about poor and over-complex design?
Simplify the design and remove ads; i have not seen any change; do you take ANY notice of subscribers? And do you use technical support of sufficient experience and a useful 'visual'sense? The design is overcomplex and not useful

Unsubscribing to spam is so naive I can't believe it's a real option
Unsubscribing to spam is so naive I can't believe it's a real option. I know AOL predates the modern internet, but you are going to have to hire someone under 60 I think, because the idea that you can unsubscribe to spam is shockingly naive and misguided.
All it does it add clicks to my attempts to deal with spam. Seriously, grow up.

AOL keeps resetting the comment counts on the New Email complaints; the cumulative totals aren't visible.
By repeatedly resetting comment counts, the totals are artificially lowered, making it appear that we're accepting the new platform. And when we vote for an idea there's no vote count available. I for one will not cease rejecting the new "Standard" email-- they call it that so it sounds normal, which it is not. There are simply too many unacceptable features.
