    Extremely important, mainly elderly people who have become friends meet on news comments as often as allowed, it's a very big part of our lonely lives. We understand each other, often agree, sometimes not, but for many it is all the social life we have, many being widows, widowers or alone. You prevent our communicating with each other.

    Me too. Have tried a dozen times to reply to person who posted to me, many people, none of them come up during week ending Sunday 8 December 2024. Bad enough they keep refusing respectable posts but now they can't make their comments pages work any more.

    In my experience the majority of us on news comments are intelligent, not youngsters besotted with low IQ simple minded people who think they're important after being seen on a tv screen.
