    For managing email it is often very useful to be able to see the total number of items in a folder, not just the number of unread items. This was in every previous version of AOL mail, as well as almost every other good email system. Please bring back this capability. (It does not seem like something that should be either complex or costly to implement.)

    In many situations it was great to be able to start and email and leave it open to work on in a separate window -- or to compose multiple related messages at the same time.

    The new approach without popout windows doesn't work nearly as well. (The compact windows that overlay the main window are not nearly as helpful.)
