My conversation with virtual assistant:
Click on the "More" option (usually represented by three dots) in the email toolbar.
Select "Block Sender" from the dropdown menu.
Confirm the Block: Follow any additional prompts to confirm that you want to block the sender.
-----
The "More" option (usually represented by three dots) in the email toolbar does NOT have the option to "Block Sender" from the dropdown menu.
--------
General method to block a sender in AOL Mail: Sign in to AOL Mail: Visit mail.aol.com and log in with your credentials.
Access Settings:
Click on "Options" in the upper-right corner of the Mail screen.
Select "Mail Settings" from the dropdown menu.
Block Senders:
In the Mail Settings, go to the "Block Senders" tab.
Enter the email address you want to block in the provided field.
Click "Add" to block the sender.
Save Changes: Make sure to save your changes to ensure the sender is blocked.
--------
The option to choose "Mail Settings" is NOT found in the upper right corner under "Options". Settings is only available from the upper left under the three horizontal lines. There you can access various choices but blocking the sender is not one of the choices here. Please provide the correct method to block senders.
------- following this response I get continued repetition of instructions that don't work. It's like a loop. Same exact response from the virtual assistant. Of course there is a number to call but I believe this will result in you having to sign up for technical support help at a fee of course. An error occurred while saving the comment

Block emails from specific senders is not possible. Various articles tell you, the necessary steps but those option do not show up. So I'm unable to successfully block a sender. This is quite frustrating!

I have some positive information to report. My use of AOL is done via AOL's webmail service via mail.aol.com. I use this the vast majority of the time on my Samsung phone and my Samsung tablet. This is where I've encountered the frustrating inability to block email from specific senders. Per my previous comments, the steps given to block are not available on phone and tablet. But the good news is this: I was on my laptop, which I very rarely use these days, and as it turns out (on laptop or desktop) you CAN go to settings and navigate to where you can block specific senders. You have the ability to enter any email address and they will be stored in a list. The process is awkward and is time-consuming but at least there is a way on desktop to do this. I wish this was explained in AOL's instructions. All they had to say was this works on desktop only not on your phone or tablet. I hope this helps someone who was facing the same frustration I was.
