  2. AOL settings, Browser, Saved Passwords

    I had a Remote hookup with a AOL support person yesterday afternoon 7/18/25. I was having problems logging on to a specific website (MSC Crusies.com) my Browser "Google Chrome" as my primary browser thru AOL/windows10 .Aol settings and Windows settings would just go blank and back me completely out of AOL and put me back on my main Windows10 home page everytime. Well anyway, the AOL Support person hooked me to the Remote operation mode. She tried several different operations. She also backed up my AOL Desk top and AOL and I thought AOLdata in my info.   3. dial-up plan?

    Will I lose my aol browsing ability when my dial-up plan ends even though I havent used dialup connection for the past 25 yrs?

    The end of life of the dial-up function will not impact any of your other services, benefits, or subscriptions. You AOL Desktop Gold, and or access to AOL Mail will NOT be impacted by the changes to dial-up.

    Please use the Report A bug feature from the help menu. This will supply us with some helpful log files that we can use to determine the cause of this issue. Also be sure to specific if this problem is about a webpage, or AOL Desktop Gold in general.

  5. Repair AOL Desktop Gold browser for viewing reels and videos

    I'd like issue resolved as to why I have to use Microsoft Edge to watch videos and/or movies. Aol constantly stops and buffers any reel that I watch. If I'm going to keep paying for service I'd like to be able to use AOL only for all my needs!

  6. Cannot open some links on the browser

    Gives this error message Error: 113 - ERRSSLVERSIONORCIPHER_MISMATCH
    when attempting to open the links from the bank (sascu.com)..Which is a secure page.

    We researched this issue and found that the SASCU website you are using has updated their web certificate, but only on the website when you add the www prefix. Their recommendation was to use the following URL to access their site.


    https://www.sascu.com/

    or

    www.sascu.com

  7. cefsharp.browsersubprocess.exe

    Long-time customer. I was just calling about the CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe. After about 3-4 minutes of trying to blame me for the problem, she literally hung up on me when I was asking a question. I pay for your service. Hanging up is unacceptable.

    My anti-virus keeps blocking this program. Why can't you do something about it.

    As for the cefsharp.browsesubprocess.exe concern, this process is the browser process within AOL Desktop that allows the connection to the internet. Each window/feature within AOL Desktop Gold that connects to the internet uses one of these processes for the connection to the internet. As you close windows you will see that these processes exit.


    Please be sure to add cefsharp.browsesubprocess.exe to your anti-virus software allow list to avoid any frustrations with connecting to the internet.

  8. Pay Pal access

    I used to access PayPal wiyh AOL. Now it will not and I'm told AOL no longer supports PayPal. If possible I would like to see that enabled again. Then I won't have to use another browser to make payments.

  10. File Downloading from a Specific Website

    Cannot download a file from mytrs.texas.gov. his is the first time it happened. Everytime I tried to download a file from this website, there's an error message pop-up. Error: Your pop-up blocker is enabled and may be preventing this document from opening. Please review your browser settings to disable the pop-up blocker. AOL agents already tried to look into it, but it seems like the option to remove the blocker is not available at this moment

    Please use the "Report a bug" option under the help menu if you see this issue again. That will provide us with some specific information that will help us understand what is happening that might be preventing the download.

  11. KEEP BROWSER MINIMIZED

    Upon opening AOL Desktop Gold I was able to have a minimized browser so the whole program did not take up the whole screen. However, currently when I go to open the program, the whole screen is maximized and I have to also manually open up my mail. Whereas, before the mail would automatically open up within the minimized browser. Need help fixing this

    The latest version of AOL Desktop Gold has the latest browser which is up to date. Sometimes web sites require a new version of the browser before our users have received the AOL Desktop Gold update which includes the latest browser. You can always check that you are on the latest version by visiting Help -> Check for Updates.

  13. Update AOL Gold Browser

    AOL Gold browser needs updating. When visiting sites such as ebay, the cursor does not appear in the search bar for the site. Google and Firefox work fine. ONLY AOL Gold has this issue. Paying customers deserve a better product

  14. AOL Desktop No Longer Opening

    With Adobe canceling its Flashplayer and the latest Windows 10 update, AOL Desktop Gold no longer opens. Why am I paying to have the gold browser and its support features, if it's so old and has been so outdated for so long that a couple of much needed updates shuts the whole thing down. I'm now relegated to using Chrome to access my AOL emails.

    If your browser crashes, please try the following steps to enhance your experience:

    a. Edit > Select Footprints to Clear
    b. Check the ‘Browser Cache’ box
    c. Restart ADG
    If the user had not previously checked the ‘Browser Cache’ clear footprint option, it can be restored using these additional steps
    d. Edit > Select Footprints to Clear
    e. Uncheck the ‘Browser Cache’ box

  16. Sign On Issues

    Right now, I have Gold version 11.0.2709 finally up and working. But if I close the browser, reboot or turn off my PC, then everything is lost and I can only get a new browser 11.0.2706 after signing on again, that has no mail, no favorites, no personal icons, can't use your File, Edit, etc. taskbar etc. It brings up the news and AOL search boxes only.     Try clearing the browser footprints. Here’s how: a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately. If you still encounter issues call us at 1-888-265-3733.

    Here is how you clear the footprints in AOL Desktop Gold:

    1. In the top menu bar, click the Settings icon Image of the Settings icon.
    2. Click Browser on the left menu.
    3. Click the Security tab at the top of the window.
    4. Select the data you’d like to clear.
    5. Click Clear Footprints.

  20. AOL Gold slows my computer to a crawl

    AOL Gold lags my computer down. I've talked to tech and they can't help. When I go into it the program opens 4 CefSharp.Browsers and 2 AOLDesktop.exe. I go from 8% Physical Memory used to 97% whenever I open an article. This does NOT happen if I am using IE. I have spoken with tech support to no avail. I have deleted and reloaded the program with no change.
