Among the AOL app's many problems, perhaps the most annoying is that it loses its place if new email arrives while the app is suspended.
For example, if you follow a link in an email to a web page opened in another app, and new email arrives before you return to AOL, the AOL app displays a newer email and loses your place in the email you were reading. This is clearly a bug.
