Per the customer service's request here are some of the issues with this new app that I have discovered since being forced to switch from the old app.
When I want to open my mail I do NOT want the app to open in AOL's news. I want to open my mail! If wanted news I would choose news once I'm in the app.
In the old app if I typed in the first two letters of a contact's name it would bring up my contact list's choice for the two letters. The new app I have to type the two letters then erase them and type them again before it brings up my contacts.
The old app would confirm when something was sent the new app just says sending and then disappears. Now I have to go to the sent folder to see if it actually sent.
Why isn't the option to reply at least in the bottom tray? The old app would have an option button right on the email itself so that you could choose it and reply. Now you have to go into the bottom tray and go to more then pick reply. Too many things to do just to reply.
In the old app all you had to do was hit the mail envelope and it would save the message as new. Now you have to go down to the bottom tray and hit move and then you have to save it as new. Too many things to do just to save as new.
The old app had an option for weather notifications. One in the morning or one in the evening or both. It also allowed you to choose a time when you wanted the weather notification. Weather has been completely removed from the notifications options. Seriously a football notification is an option but weather isn't??
These are just a few things that I've noticed trying to use this new app. This new app is horrible compared to the old app! They went backwards in developing it instead of forwards. Reading the reviews from other users I see there are a lot of unhappy people with this new app. I don't know why we were forced to change from the old app! I'm probably going to have to switch to a different email app to get my emails. I have been an AOL user for over 20 years so it's a shame to have to switch. I hope the developers take everybody's responses seriously and changes this new app back to how the old app functioned.
