This forum is a place where Engadget readers can leave feedback for our engineering team about our desktop and mobile sites. We’re always trying to give you guys a better experience, and user comments are a great place to start. Drop us a line, and remember: The more specific your feedback, the better. (Oh, and be nice, please!) As a heads-up, this forum isn’t for giving feedback on our editorial content, but you’re always welcome to leave comments on stories and videos. (Again, be nice!) While we can’t respond to every reader suggestion, we do read and consider every piece of feedback we receive. Feel free to send us a note — we’ll be happy to hear from you.

Get rid of the autoplaying videos ASAP.
I was looking up iPad mini reviews. I found what looked like a good review on your site, but within seconds of the page loading, it started playing a video. I left, and I won't be back.
I don't understand why you have them. People hate these things, without exception. They're obnoxious. They can be embarrassing if you're in a room with other people. They're a really disrespectful thing to have on your site. Please get rid of these things.

Pop up video impedes edge of text
I'm on this article (https://www.engadget.com/2019/05/26/amds-third-gen-ryzen-9-cpu-is-a-12-core-powerhouse-for-499/) but the video that pops up when I scroll down kind of covers a letter or two at the ragged right edge of the text. Maybe you should fix that. It looks like a mistake and is so distracting to me I stopped to write this to you instead of taking in your content. Bummer.
Hey. DO NOT send me spam to my e-mail address or I will report it as such. I ******* hate that stuff.

Ads seem to be affecting page performance lately. I am getting 10+ seconds of load time before I am able to start scrolling to read.
I understand that ads pay the bills, but please ensure that they don't interfere with performance and basic usability.

Put the date of every article below its headline. I can't tell by looking if I'm reading something that is 1 day or 1 year old.

Biased articles
When a biased article such as the one from J. Fingas about the Rittenhouse trial use of zooming in on a video is published, please mark it as opinion which is not based on all the facts.
It is common knowledge that zooming in on a video can distort what is being seen. A moth flying by the lens can be seen as a flash from a firearm when zoomed in. Though the lawyers may have used the wrong terminology, what they were trying to say was 100% true, yet J. Fingas through lack of knowledge or through being biased…9th ranked -
The sponsored content and ads are getting out of control
I've been reading engadget for more than 10 years now, I love it! I have always liked the varierty of quality, unique and interesting articles, videos and more.
But the ads and sponsored **** seems to have been ramped up recently and it really takes away from the user experience. It's become like scrolling through Facebook. It seems every 3rd article is an ad. I get that's where the money is, but it seems like you're just milking it too much. It fustrating and makes me want to go elsewhere for similar news. I know i'm just one person, so…

Make it easy to distinguish between articles and ads on your Web site. You are as bad as the Yahoo Tech News site in that regard.

So many ads. Wow! I also needed a calculator.
So many ads. Wow! So many ads that I don't know what is news or not. Maybe one per page, but phew. See ya later. My idea is to go somewhere else till you figure out how many ads are too many ads

Go back to separate pages rather than one long feed
Having one long feed is a pain when you click on an article and then go back - it takes you back to the top of the feed and you have to scroll and click to get back to where you were. Now I have to remember to right click, open in new tab, then close that tab when I'm done. It was much easier with the separate pages as it was before.

Social Media buttons at bottom of mobile pages too easy to select.
The buttons stuck to the bottom of mobile webpages will trigger even if your finger starts on it but swipes up. This causes those sites to repeatedly load and interrupt the content on your site. Please remove them completely, or at the very least fix their behavior to avoid accidental touches from opening the sites.
