new email format is terrible

You haven't done a thing to improve the email scheme. Not even the simplest addition of a sort by sender.
Since your scheme is worthless and it is **** to change your email, I have simply opted to use Mozilla Thunderbird to access my AOL mail. Benefits? I only come to AOL to see how completely you disregard your customer base.
1) You can sort by anything, up and down. You can select to save /delete set apart.
2) I don't have to read your news, your editorials o see your ads. Happy? I am. -

You would think that a service that is mocked for how it has shot itself in the foot repeatedly over the last few years would listen to its customers rather than be stubborn about a feature change that has gone over like passing gas in church. The mail format was acceptable. Now it is frustrating. Even Coca Cola figured out that change for the sake of change can be a mistake. Whatever happened to giving the customers want they want?

I need a way to simply "Open" email - either a double click to open or a right click>open. The new default seems to be "reply" I need to be able to open & read before I can reply.
Bring back right click > Search by from/to. That's the easiest way to manage all the automatic notifications.

At least two changes are very annoying -- (1) when I change status of a message on my Mac (like deleting a message), it doesn't carry over to mail on my other devices, (2) it insists on marking the most recent e-mail as "read" when I'd like to keep it as unread. I have to really work to make sure this doesn't happen. I can live with other changes, but there are no positives.

It's as if someone were trying to put the last nail in the coffin for aol with the new format. Can there be some benefit for the company? Perhaps the new design saves data usage or something? The old format was a really great design and super versatile. Almost had to lose it to appreciate it! They've taken something which was a design for demanding executives to use and made it a child's plaything. So many things possible before are lost!

FIRE or Terminate the New Email Engineers and Developers.
Bring Back Old Emails! The New Email Format is horrible.I can't read the columns on left menu column because its gray letters on gray back ground. And the fonts and spreading of the left column is so far apart, that is is impossible to see a majority of the items in the left menu column.
I don't understand why there is a Jewish Star of David on all of my emails showing up on every single email. Leave ALL religious symbols out of my email. In OLD MAIL, it shows the date or month and waste valuable space and ABSOLUTELY STUPID to categorize mail by Day, Last Week, Earlier in June.... STUPID.....to the right column is the EXACT EMAIL DATE ALREADY !!!!
I have called your tech support for help. THEY ARE USELESS and they expressed to me that they have been bombarded with non-stop complaints and angry users who ALL HATE THE NEW AOL EMAIL FORMAT.
The AOL Engineers, developers, corporate, managers and supervisors are obviously not reading and responding to ALL OF THESE FEEDBACK COMPLAINTS.
IF ALL AOL FEEDBACK IS NEGATIVE....DON'T YOU THINK SOMETHING IS WRONG????

We very much prefer the AOL page with email, etc. as it was before. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE! We agree that along with more change in our lives than we probably prefer, the format before is more easily controlled by each customer and we have a hard time clicking on such small items, like the stars, etc. Is there any way those who want the original format back can PLEASE have it added into their account and those who like the new way can keep it? Thank you for the opportunity to give feedback! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL FORMAT!

Horrible format. Went to AOL help menu to try and change back. It says to hit "options" gear, which is not there. This is my work e-mail and I can't work this way. I use to complete an e-mail and it would move the completed e-mail to old mail. Why would AOL choose to work like Gmail and Hotmail and Yahoo. How do we get the old format back?
