Perhaps AOL is collecting revenue from advertising this way? It’s bad enough that they have ads at the top of every folder - inbox, sent, drafts, and amusingly the spam folder too.
I like AOL email, it’s a nice short email address, ‘@aol.com’, although I have read claims that some people view the domain as old fashioned. The app however is now total trash. I’m now using apple’s built in mail app, and that does everything I want, without the advertising junk. If I want to occasionally check my spam folder, I’ll go to the web. And perhaps start moving everyone over to my new gmx.com email address.
