I AM REALLY ANGRY THAT AOL HAS MADE A DECISION FOR ME TO STAY SIGNED INTO AOL MAIL. THIS IS N*O*T SECURE. PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE UP THEIR OWN MINDS ABOUT THIS LAPSE IN SECURITY. SO WHEN I CLEAR MY HISTORY, EXIT, SIGN OUT, EXIT SAFARI, AND TURN OFF MY LAPTOP, MY AOL MAIL IS STILL "ON," BECAUSE THE BOX IS PRE-CHECKED WHEN I SIGNED IN?! THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE WORST SECURITY AND PRIVACY SITUATIONS. THINK OF ALL THE ONLINE SHOPPING, AND WHOOPS -- YOU THINK YOU ARE SIGNED OUT, AND ALL THE SCAMMERS, SPAMMERS, ETC., ARE GETTING INTO YOUR EMAIL AND ALL PURCHASE INFORMATION, WHILE YOU ARE SLEEPING.
IF SOME PEOPLE WANT TO BE LAZY ABOUT BEING ABLE TO STAY SIGNED IN, MAKE THEM CHECK THE BOX TO STAY SIGNED IN. I AM BETTING 90% OF PEOPLE DON'T WANT THIS.
Exactly what the header says. I shouldn't have to pay to not see ads, and I am ok with ads -- but the flashing, moving, strobing ones are more than a distraction. They are overtly distracting, and trigger migraines and epilepsy. Does AOL want to pay for medical bills that they cause?
