Aol app will not accept my new password
After changing my password at mail.aol.com with my desktop computer using Windows 10 and Edge, the AOL app on my Samsung Android phone will not accept the new password. After entering the new password, the app loops back to the sign in screen. After numerous attempts to verify my identity via text message to my cell phone and voice message to my landline phone, I will get the "Congratulations" screen that my password has been changed. But when I select "Continue", I am directed again to the sign in screen. Entering my password again is unsuccessful. This is a vicious loop that technical support rep Lyn was unable to solve even though she was very helpful working with me over the phone for several hours. This included uninstalling and re-installing the AOL app from Google Play several times. Lyn told me I was using the correct version of Android.
Please go to the device’s Settings – Apps – and tap on each browser you have installed on your device (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, native Android Browser, Opera etc.) and go to “Open by default” and tap on “Clear defaults”. The next time you try to sign into the AOL App, you will be asked with what browser you want to open the login screen, and you can choose Google Chrome, and let us know if the issue persists.
