Old format so much better.
Old format was much easier to use. Was it really necessary to change?

Before the update, a sender with the name fredblogs@gmail might look legitimate, but putting a finger on the name would bring up the real email address, which didn't match the sender. This is a sure way of knowing that it's a fraud/phishing/scam attempt. Why did AOL remove a basic safety feature which most email providers use ?

Simply show the sender and subject line. No fancy design needed, roman is fine.
