Old format so much better.
Old format was much easier to use. Was it really necessary to change?

This new format is awful. Everything is too flashy like social media (which is taking a horrible downturn in the same manner and has been seeing a steady decline in use amongst all the people I know). It's so flashy and distracting that the actual information, which is the only important thing with e-mail, is being pushed to the background. With everything so puffed up, I can't even read the message headers to get an idea what will be contained in the message because all the flash doesn't leave any room for the header to actually be displayed. Every header now looks something like "Messa.....fre" and they all blend together making the whole thing a jumbled mess. Unless whoever sends me a message makes their subject line 2 short words or less, I'm at a loss as to what their message is about. If you want to simply relocate the controls to the bottom, or some minor format changes like that, that's one thing (though even that I would prefer not change), but these new bubbles and this bold jumbled mess is uncalled for and unappreciated. And the ads are now nearly indistinguishable from messages, which I get is deliberate to trick us to open them, but do you really want to go "tricking" your customers for profit? Because I can't imagine you will have many customers at all with that attitude. As this now is, I will likely stop using the app and go through the hassle of logging into my account the old fashioned way through the web page, since the hassle of that is less of a burden than this app now is. Or possibly I will just leave AOL altogether for another e-mail provider.

do.not.like the.new format the reason I resisted lots of suggestions from my children to change to other providers was because I liked the original format which was user friendly and the **** was sent to the spam box not to inbox may as well change to another provider now you have even made it difficult to complain

AOL also turned Huffington Post into something that sucks. The National Enquirer is better than anything AOL does. Go back to being an email platform. leave reporting to all the other social programming news.
