let people actually see local news. Why would I be interested in everything that goes on in America rather than Britain.

Hi there. In the AOL app you can choose the edition. Please tap on your profile icon, then on Settings and scroll to the General ones and tap on Edition. You can then choose the UK one. You'll see news from the UK as well.
