THE LINKS NO LONGER ALLOW YOU TO ACCESS CRITICAL FORMS, WEBSITE CONTENT, OR UPDATES IN MESSAGES! AS A PHYSICIAN, I CANNOT ACCESS CRITICALLY IMPORTANT LINKS TO ACCESS SPECIFIC CONTENT OR FORMS OR WEBPAGES THAT ARE SENT SPECIFICALLY TO ME AND REQUIRE IMMEDIATE ACTION!!!!! The new update keeps each step of a link in a chain so if you need to enter a code for 2 step verification, which the above mentioned professional content requires, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ A NEW EMAIL MESSAGE WITH A CODE BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO BACKTRACK THROUGH ALL OF THE CHAINS FROM THE ORIGINAL MESSAGE LINK, AND WHEN YOU GET BACK TO THE INBOX TO READ THE CODE, YOU HAVE NOW LOST YOUR ACCESS TO THE SECURE CONTENT REQUIRING THAT CODE, AND YOU HAVE TO START THE WHOLE PROCESS ALL OVER AGAIN, AND IT WILL NEVER WORK BECAUSE TO READ A CODE SENT BY EMAIL TO ACCESS CONTENT FROM A LINK IN ANOTHER EMAIL, THE CODE WILL AUTOMATICALLY BECOME VOID WHEN YOU HAVE TO RESTART THE CHAIN FROM THE LINK! THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND PROFESSIONALLY DAMAGING TO FAIL ACCESS TO TIME SENSITIVE ACTIONS!!!!

Just recently since December 2025 when you click on links within the AOL app they no longer default to the app or open in your default browser. They open in an AOL limited browser which 95% of the time reply back with an error. Long pressing the link and choosing option to open in browser works. I've already cleared the cache and data with in the AOL app as well as checking settings and uninstalling/reinstalling the app and same result. I've since configured my email to open in another client and when clicking links it opens as it should in my default browser or app. The only downfall is none of my folders are there. I have to check settings to see if there is an imap option.

When I click a link received in an email, it does not launch my Chrome browser as it should (I have set that app setting appropriately). Instead it either launches a browser-looking page within the AOL app or it returns an error message, "this webpage is not available...." To troubleshoot, I have already cleared the cache on the AOL app, forced a stop, and closed and re-opened the app. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the AOL app. I continue to encounter the same issues. Lastly I have found one work-around: hard-pressing the link or button in the email and then (with a different finger) clicking "open in browser" on the URL that displays in the short menu that temporarily appears. This is not a long-term solution, but it works and I guess is similar to right-clicking the link/button on a computer and selecting "open in new tab."

not being able to click on a link in email to go to webpage provided. it takes me somewhere but not able to connect to internet, so no login is allowed. How do I change the setting to get my usual internet browser

everytime I hot a link, aol has a problem and won't let me log in?? So much for upgrades

Open emails to browser not in AOL app. Or at least give people the choice. If this isn't sorted soon, I'll have to delete my account, as it's driving me MAD

My old Motorola G Power phone for Android opened attachments in Chrome. This new phone I just started got doesn't open attachments in Chrome. Go back to opening attachments in Chrome.

Whoever thought opening links in the AOL browser was a good idea needs their heads examining. Dreadful!!

absurd that AOL would default to opening EVERY link in their own app. Can't open calendar invites, app links, or anything without extra clicks. Terrible idea for a greedy company to get private data and sell it. FIX IT!

net::ERR_CLEARTEXT_NOT_PERMITTED. this error suddenly occurs frequently when clicking on a link in an email. never happened before. I have a pixel 8 phone, updated. if I paste the link in a browser it usually works
