    In reality, it is really no longer needed. The election should only be determined by who gets that most votes, not the Electoral College. Hillary should have won because she got 3 million more votes than trump, but sadly..........

    Is AOL completely stupid and many of the USA citizens when they want to abolish the Electoral College. Don't you people realize that IF we didn't have the Electoral College, it would take only 3 states to elect a President, California, Texas, and New York. If anyone got these three States, they would be President and no other state would matter. Really???? Is this what you want????

    The Electoral College was put in to ensure that the smaller populated states would be treated equal and fair to the most populated. If you went by popular vote. The President would be elected by about three to four states where they are the most populated and the rest of the US would not have a say in the election. Smartest thing the Founding Fathers thought of. No your facts before you try and get rid of something you know nothing about

    Maine and Nebraska don't have a "winner take all" system. Both states have produced one split vote. In 2008, Barack Obama won one Nebraska district based around Omaha and in 2016, Donald Trump won one rural Maine district. The remaining two electoral votes in Maine and three in Nebraska went to the other party’s candidate.

    It's not racist you ignorant dolt. Most every state is a "winner take all" when it comes to Electoral votes. Every state has the right to change that rule. The Founding Fathers on their worst day were smarter than all of you put together.

    You are an idiot. If you want something changed do the work to get it done. Work to make sure the Convention of States is adopted in your State.

    The Constitution needs to be amended so that the election is won by popular vote. The American people have been cheated out of 2 Presidents wh0o won the popular vote but lost to the Electoral College!

    That's why there are amendments TO the Constitution. We need an amendment! The electoral college is WHY we're stuck with this idiot as president.
