This is a horrible update! There is nothing useful or interesting about this update. It is confusing and time consuming and ridiculous!! And the ads in my inbox is too much!! Please go back to the old way! I think I've been using AOL mail for 20 years, I'm going to have to be done with it. New and improved isn't always what it's cracked up to be.

I absolutely hate the new format. Please allow us to switch to Classic Mail again. The new AOL is horrendous.

This new update, 6-27-23, is miserable and confusing. I let old mail move to old mail for a reason. I DON"T want to see it below new mail! This is a change but not an improvement!

This is the worst!!! Now I'm stuck with all the mail I already read because I can't move it to Old Mail. What were you thinking??? Just let me go back to the original or I'm going to have to start using G-Mail.

I absolutely HATE this update!!! It ruined my day! I spent many hours trying to figure out how to get back to what WORKED. This new standard sucks ****! It cuts the screen in halves, i have to move back and forth to see the email.. and then scroll up and down.. Its really a big mess! I have started migrating my emails to gmail. I never thought I would have to do this after having AOL since it began, back when I paid 50cents an hour to use AOL on the dial up. Always ready for the new disk that would come in the mail. I marveled at it and loved it. I am SO SAD about this! The new update doesnt automatically put my emails I have read out of the mix, it doesnt give me the exact amount of emails I have. I just hate this! Gmail and yahoo emails.. I have both.. will be using them more.. until you fix this garbage. I had to call and talk to someone in the Philippines, and probably whomever updated this lives there also. I told them this is AMERICA ONLINE, not Philippines Online. I cant understand the accents, no insults intended. I have visited and the people are nice.. Why ruin something that milllions use daily? I was told by this lady that lots of people like the updates and "new standard". I have no idea why they like it, but good for them! Just dont get rid of the old version. and put it back how it used to be..

More in hope than expectation, I'll add my comment to the list: this upgrade appears to have removed lots of useful functionality for the sake of new features I have no interest in.

Just one example: the old format used to display a count of the number of emails in a folder, which was a good way of controlling the size of the inbox. This basic piece of information no longer seems to be available and the help facility offers no relevant advice on getting it back so I assume this cannot be done.

Of course, I could simply switch to controlling inbox size by removing emails older than a set date rather than quantity but that's not the point, is it? Why remove the choice when it already existed?

Horrific coloration aside: The old way worked just fine, the new "standard" and the new "classic" are a very displeasing experience.

how can you ignore literally thousands of comments, in the strongest words telling you this new version sucks, listing everything that is wrong with it and there is a lot, and not give the user the option to chose the old version. Have you guys at AOL used the new version at all? it reallly really sucks, please for God sake give at least give us the option to choose.
