    To make sure the Content Filter is not blocking important emails, please follow the steps below and remove any common used words and phrases from the content filter.

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold and Sign on.
    2. Click on “Mail” on the top left and select “Block Unwanted Mail” from the drop-down menu to open the Spam Controls.
    3. Remove any common words and phrases from the “Block mail containing specific words and phrases” section.
    4. Click Save Settings.

    If the issue persists please call the AOL Desktop Gold team at the number 1-888-265-3733.

    Click on Mail > Mail Settings > un-check “Confirm before deleting items” Changes are saved automatically.

    Try refreshing the mailbox. Click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen and select Refresh Mailbox from the drop-down menu.

    You can manage your AOL pop-ups by going to the Edit tab, then to Browser Settings and from here to Pop-ups. By checking the radio buttons you can manage your preferences, you don’t need to save your settings, this is done automatically.

  6. Unread email mark

    I Just install Aol desktop Gold and it shows that I have 3321 unread emails which impossible because I regularly check my mail, when I had the older version it was only 300 Unread emails I don't have time to read mark everything as read. please fix this

    You can select all your unread emails by pressing CTRL + A and then click on “Mark Unread”.

    To add links to favorites, please follow these steps:

    1. Open your favorite website in the AOL Desktop browser.

    2. In the top right corner of the webpage, right-click on the “Heart” shaped icon then select Add to Favorites / Add to Toolbar / Insert in Mail from the drop-down menu.

    If you still encounter issues call us at 1-888-265-3733.

  9. SENT emails

    When I go to my SENT emails, they are not listed according to date. They used to be, but now it is almost impossible to find the correct email to resend it again. Please change this horrible problem.

    To see the emails arranged by date, click on the Date header on the top of the mailbox list. The column header will display an up arrow to indicate the list is being sorted in ascending order or a down arrow to indicate the list is sorted in descending order.

  10. AOL NEWS!

    WHY cannot you read AOL news anymore? The picture changes, but the story remains the same. PLEASE correct this. AOL Gold is NOT user friendly and is encouraging us all to go to another provider.

    Please try to clear the Browser Footprints in order to solve the issue:

    Here’s how:
    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

  11. Secure Web Sites???

    I noticed that bill paying sites no longer have the secure lock icons since the change to Gold!!! I thought the biggest excuse for eliminating the old AOL program ie: 9.8.2 was to improve security! So the question is, just how secure are some of the web sites??

    I have to chime in with so many others who have complained: I HATE GOLD AND WOULD LIKE THE OLD PROGRAM RETURNED

    When visiting secure websites (HTTPS) you will see a yellow lock to the left of the URL in the address box, indicating that the website is secure. The yellow lock will not show if you are accessing regular HTTP websites.

  12. AOL signature using AOL in browser

    I know how to add different signatures in email using AOL desktop version but how do you add a signature when using AOL Mail in either Chrome or Firefox browser?

    Follow this steps in order to install AOL Desktop Gold.

    1. Sign in to your AOL account at
    mybenefits.aol.com.

    2. Under “All Products,” scroll to “AOL Desktop Gold.”

    3. Click Download Now.

    4. Follow the installation steps listed below.

    If you encounter issues call us at 1-888-265-3733.

  14. Pictures in my emails don't always come through on AOL Gold. I checked my setting are all right .

    pictures inserted don't always come through when I get an email from friends. If i forward them to another one of my email providers they come through fine. What'sup after I know my settings are right I checked and double checked. This needs to be fixed soon or I'll have to get rid of AOL after all these years. It's always screwed up when they make these big changes like this. They should cross their t"s and dot their i's before they do these updates.

    Go to Edit – Mail Settings – uncheck “Hide images and disable links in mail from unknown senders” (changes are saved automatically). This should fix the problem.

    Please make sure you have the latest AOL Desktop Gold version by clicking the “Help” button on the top, right corner of the window, and selecting “About AOL” from the drop-down menu. In the middle of the “About AOL” window, you’ll see the version you have installed.

    If the version is lower than 11.0.1648, keep the AOL Desktop signed in for at least 20 minutes then close and reopen the software. The update should automatically upload. If the issue persists after updating the AOL Desktop, please call the dedicated Gold team at 1-888-265-3733

  16. Can not get your most recent update

    On 2/27/18 you updated to version 11.0.1648. I have tried at least 6 times to get the update but I did not and still have version 11.0.1630. Each time I closed AOL down and waited 20 minutes but I just can't get it. So now even the updates are not working??

    The updates are first released to the AOL Desktop Gold Beta program, and your regular version of the software will receive these updates 1-3 days later, depending on the feedback we receive from our Beta program.

  17. return to old (aol) mail. Cancel aol gold. I hate it!

    I have been an aol paying customer for, at least, 20 years, I totally dislike the new aol gold. It is almost impossible to block emails that I do not want to receive.

    Thankfully, I was able to get in touch with your tech, Raven. He was able to show me how to block a very annoying email, and I want to thank him for his help. He is a very sharp guy!!

    We anticipate all older versions of the AOL Desktop software to change over to AOL Desktop Gold over the upcoming year. We developed this new and enhanced AOL Desktop Gold software to replace the older AOL Desktop versions in the market today. We will continue to notify additional members about the availability of this new software over the coming months.

  19. Make delete button work again for deleting e-mails

    In the mailbox window, I used to be able to use the keyboard's delete button to delete e-mails. Sometimes it will work now, and other times I have to press the keyboard's delete multiple times to get it to delete.
