Ads should look like ads, not email, that's what is unethical. I'm looking for another free email account. I have no plans to pay you to quit being unethical to advertisers and people who had a good service for decades.

you need to remove old mail folder. Just keep new mail as read or unread. Way less confusing and steps to see all mail.
Old mail folder idea, is confusing, useless, not necessary. Even this information reqest is confusing. you all over think, make it more simple.
