Why can't I read a story without most of the screen blocked by constant pop up ads that won't go away?

Stop putting all those's advertising on your news page and put everything on one page not next to next to next. Also put what your advertising ex Ellen Degeneres I want to know why she is losing her hair not her whole life story I already know about her life. You do this all the time with other stories, Tell people what your are advertising and nothing else and stop the advertising all other products it's very annoying you are screwing up my computer with all these next, next, next and tell it on one page.

STOP THE CLICKING
I am probably or even perhaps one of your oldest subscriber. There are lots of things I like about AOL, however it would appear that AOL is not listening to or care about customers anymore. Your WELCOME PAGE stinks. There are many interesting and good stories which are smothered by advertising and introduction without substance. Customers are forced, to continuously and annoyingly, click NEXT after reading a sentence or two which is surrounded by ads that no one read. Most customers never go beyond the first or second CLICK..
Please listen to your customers and stop the CLICKING. You can do better. You can change your format by putting a single story on one page and surround it with your ads, maybe customers would read both. No more CLICKING change your format .

Stop the ads on the news headline features, then when you do click on a feature, you have to click "NEXT" pictures....., then there are more ads,,,Why can't AOL, just show the news that was originally featured on the welcome page!!!!

Your ads now cover 90% of content, and are now located in the central area of the screen. AOL has become a complete POS.

This isn't a new idea, it's a familiar complaint from many people. Your pop-up ads **! No matter how many times I close an ad, it's back on the next page. And I have pop-ups blocked!!! They cover half the page. And when I close them, and say why I closed them, it always says, "Ad closed by Google." No, it was closed by me, and on the next page, there it is again. I also hate your stores where I have to click "next" a hundred times. We pay for your service. That means if I don't want pop-ups, I shouldn't have to look at them. Disgusted!

As a paid subscriber since 1986. I'm sick and tired of the Ads when reading emails. EG: If Geico Insurance offered me free insurance, I would decline. I'm beginning to experience "Mental Anguish" for I may pursue rememdy?

I am so sick of popups appearing in the middle of an article that I want to read, I have decided to immediately shut down AOL and go to another browser. In fact, I am using another browser 80% of the time. I advise other to do the same. Nothing to enjoy here at AOL.

Also, as you attempt to hit 'next page' the screen moves and you end up clicking on some ad that you never wanted and then you start getting emails from that site because of course your email was instantly recorded when you inadvertently clicked on the ad.

I am curious why when reading an article you have to click through numerous NEXT's to finish reading?? I would imagine it's because you can cram more ads in the article.....4 lines of news and the rest is ads. I dont bother reading them any more!!!! Bad change AOL made

Boy it's nice to see I am the company of fellow AOL users who are total fed up with the "next page" clicking. Like others I no longer go thru this stupidity.
AOL used to be a good product until incompetent IT people meddled with it.
I suppose this was done in the name of corporate greed rather than client satisfaction.
And NEVER expect any changes ! To change it would be to admit they screwed up in the frist place -

I stopped even reading those items. It is so frustrating to have to "click next" a dozen times just to follow I simple story. AOL Gold is tarnished beyond belief !

How do you expect the click thru stories to be read if they are covered in ads? What rocket scientist thought this one up?
