I completely agree with this post. I didn't mind so much when the ads were just down one side of my screen but now they're down both sides and overlapping the article I'm trying to read across the bottom and across the left bottom corner. It's bad enough having to click through every two sentences but trying to read around all the ads is becoming really, really annoying. I'm still a paying member for this service but this is starting to push me to reducing my usage to just a free email account.

Reading any news story or looking at pictures is now a chore. Ads block half the screen. And you have to click through ad nauseum pages to read any article. Enough -- understand the need for ads but don't cover your photos or news with them. Articles do not need to be so difficult to read. I just give up. Am looking for a new service after years on AOL.

Why when we are paying so much to use AOL, when we can get so many others for free, do we have to put up with so many darn commercials in our face constantly. 80% of my screen is commercials, they come at me from the bottom, both side and the top, this is in addition to all the others that are all ready on there, they pop up constantly, I am constantly clicking them off, it is only making all of us very mad out here, we are paying alot for the service when we could be using the free sites, I might add those free sites have far far less commercials too, I have never in 20 years with you people bought one thing from your commercials, nor will I, I never watch them, open them up, not interested, so please stop bombarding us with constant commercials, we pay alot, I can understand if you do it to those who are using your service for free, but there are so many problems with your GOLD program as it is, then to be hit constantly with things you are not interested in. Give it a rest, give us a break, for God sake. Also, why do we have to constantly have to click to a new page to read an article, 10 pages just to get to the end of a story, you people are losing customers because they are tired of paying for commercials and articles they can not read on one page............I am very unhappy with your GOLD experience. 20 years we have been with you, and we feel like we have no respect from you at all. What a shame.

How sad that AOL is now in the pocket of a group known for abusing their customers. Yahoo/Verizon/and god only knows what (blank you fill in the adjetive) pookas are doing with our private info.
The next page routine is the end of AOL -

I agree 100%. Your attempt to post as much advertisement as possible, destroys readers desire to check out the content of the stories. I know it won't make a difference, but I don't intend to read any more of the stories posted.

15 pages of NEXT to read a story - and I didn't even look at one ad as a matter of principle because you are not listening to us - we don't want to do that. I have given up reading AOL news because of this and I see others are doing the same. The article should all be on ONE PAGE!

It's actually worse than that. Good luck finding the answer to the reason you clicked in the first place! AoL needs to do more about shielding its subscribers from garbage. We know why we are hassled with all the clicking... Each new page presents more ads we do not want to see. The longer we are held captive, the more ad revenues AOL makes. There needs to be a set of content guide lines for what AOL is passing off as news. In the absence of response by AOL, I handle these bogus stories by exiting if I don't see what I want in 2 clicks. Here is an example of one entertainment news story about a "Wheel of Fortune" contestant.

You are hooked with the headline of a crafty game play, then after clicking very little if anything is said about that TV episode, but there are sure a lot of ads WE DON'T WANT TO SEE!
I pay my monthly subscriber fee. I expect better service.

Your ad are over the top, one cannot read many articles due to the ad covering them. I did not sign up with AOL to read ads. Is there any way to stop or reduce the amount of clutter.

Again get an add on the side of my e-mail, with AOL annoying pop up ads that are everywhere, saying internet security code 055bco etc. which locks the computer up trying to get me to download something. 4th time this week. Been going on for few months now. Have to close out AOL through task manager. My computer is fine, it is their pop up ads. They still are not doing anything about it.

Again, AOL pop up ads locks up my computer, trying to get me to download something about a virus. Have to close down AOL by the task manager. This happens every week, and already 3 times this week. It is in their ads, and they will not do anything about it. Time to use only GMAIL if they do not fix this. Going to lose another paying customer

I was TRYING to read the "Give It Love" segment, and all of a sudden those Friggin video ads plowed into the bottom right corner and fllopped around. I don't know if whoever puts this stuff together puts any attention to it or now, but all that flopping around is really distracting, but then I didn't grow up playing video games 24/7.The only way I can get away from those **** things is to leave the site, which I did. It appeared to be a fine story, too. AOL has really gone to **** in a handbasket.
