In reviewing your complaints, the problem is obvious. AOL's executive management will not admit it has one.
While AOL "news" seems only interested in progressive views, and why it purchased the Huffington Post, (not unlike Slate, DailyKOS, MoveOn with objectives not unlike Cloward and Piven), it has not paid attention to its bottom line.
That is AOL is an ISP. In others words a place where I can immediately get online to the Internet.
Having been with AOL well over 15 years, its AOL Gold is not Gold but the color of rust. While AOL's CEO has focused on being sure progressive news is spread through out its millions of members, he obviously has not spent the same kind of money in running his core business, that of being a RELIABLE ISP.
For instance, using a Windows 10 Platform, AOL Gold, unlike Blue, is a constant problem in getting it to JUST open. I have to go away to do something else like eat dinner or chores, coming back to hope that AOL had opened so I can go onto the Internet.
I have complained over six times to tech support with several case numbers, one blaming Nortons. But Norton's advanced desk gave me instructions on how to not cause problems with such unstable ISPs such as AOL. I have done that and yet AOL Gold continues to take forever to load.
The only way to get it to load is to uninstall it and then shut down, because unless you shut down you can't get rid of the AOL icon. Then after reinstalling AOL works fine, maybe one day maybe three until it fails to load again.
One time the AOL logo even stayed on my screen without loading. I had to shut down to get rid of the **** eye sore.
So hats off to Armstrong who services Huffington Post but can't get his ISP train to run down the tracks.
