    Please refresh the Mailbox after you marked an email unread (click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen> Refresh Mailbox).

  2. add a shortcut icon to the aol desktop tool bar

    It would be great if there was a way to add to the aol desktop toolbar. It seems to be a highly guarded secret. I can edit a name but not the url.

  3. AIOL DOES NOT GIVE A DAME ABOUT ITS CUSTOMERS.

    No matter what. AOL GOLD DOES NOT GIVE A **** about it's customers. Every time I sign on , I find another problem. Have No idea where things are in in MY Favorites, YET,AOL, ask, how to IMPROVE, AOL GOLD. It is SIMPLE, GO BACK TO 9.8.

    Try clearing the footprints in the new software. Here is how:

    a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings.

    No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

  5. Mailbox problem

    You said today that The Inbox is the main folder where all your emails (read and unread alike) appear.

    This is not the case. There are 87 mails in my Inbox, and 306 mails in my Read box. So my inbox only holds New mails.

    The folder that shows only unread emails is the called New, and the Old folder is where you can find all the read ones. If you want a unified folder where you can see both read and unread emails, click on Read on the top left, then select the Inbox tab from the top left corner of the mailbox.

    Go to Edit > Browser settings > Security tab and check the option “Allow
    local data to be set”. Changes are saved automatically.

  8. Put a date on all AOL sheets like the old version

    the old version of AOL alwayd put dates on the pages that I was printing. Now they don't and i have to do it manually and it takes me so much more time. Please go back to the old way of doing it.

    To make sure the date is displayed on the printed page, first open the email or web-page you want to print, then go to File on the top left and select Print Preview from the drop-down menu. In the Print Preview window, make sure “Show headers and footers” is checked on the upper left, then click on the Print button. The date will be displayed on the top left corner of the printed page.

    The latest post on the AOL Beta Central page is referring to an update to the chat service. This update is already live and you can enjoy the new Chatroom features without having to update the software, meaning that the software revision number will remain the same (11.0.1671) until the next software update.

    In order for the software to open your last browsing settings when signing on, please follow the steps below to enable this feature:

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold and sign on.
    2. Click on Edit on the top left and select Browser Settings from the drop-down menu.
    3. Select the Tabs button on the top of the Browser Settings window.
    4. Check “Show browser windows open during last session” at the bottom (changes are saved automatically).

    Please note that if you close the browser window before exiting the AOL Desktop Gold, your last browsing session will not auto-load the next time you open the software (you will need to leave the browser window opened when exiting the software). Also each username has its own browsing session, so make sure you are signing on to the correct username to continue your last browsing session.

  13. AOL Gold is NOT an Improvement

    Improved usually means "better" but the Gold version is NOT.....why do we need 3 steps just to sign on? Why do we need you to "fix" our Favorites, you do know we arent children and have our way of setting it up? Why when writing email there are no choices of fonts? What happened to our sounds? Why did you remove our Buddy List? You notice I didn't mention the Instant Messages!!! Adding images to our emails and resizing them when necessary is gone! Why if you want to switch screen names your cant see if there's mail, it would…

    Thank you for your feedback, will send it over to the AOL Gold desktop team, making sure the features you mentioned become a priority and will be added in the future releases. Currently, we don’t have an estimated time frame, but we hope the majority of the features our members are asking for will be implemented soon.

    As you might have noticed we changed the login process in AOL Mail, to a more secure 2 step login, which helps prevent your AOL account from being compromised or hacked.

    To resize a picture after it was embedded in an email, click on the picture, then drag one of its four corners to adjust its size.   14. Well, I was going to tell you that AOL Gold sucks, but I see a bunch of other people already have...bring back 9.7 or 9.8

    Gold is slow. I don't like having my email divided between new and old. I can't highlight and read my email subject titles. My address book doesn't work right. And the browser doesn't work at all.

    In order to do that, uncheck the “Save Password” and “Auto sign on this username to open” boxes next time you sign on.

    With soooo many things you have DELETED from the aol I loved, & was
    able to work convientlyI AM NOW CERTAIN THAT WE HAVE BEEN
    SCAMMED & DUPED !! there is no way you can deny this. I am sure the community will get their heads togeather on this ********...& I can see no good comming from this

    Please make sure you have the latest AOL Desktop Gold version by clicking the “Help” button on the top, right corner of the window, and selecting “ About AOL“ from the drop-down menu. In the middle of the “About AOL” window, you’ll see the version you have installed.

    If the version is lower than 11.0.1648, keep the AOL Desktop signed in for at least 20 minutes then close and reopen the software. The update should automatically upload.

    Also, please refresh the Mailbox. Click on the Mail option > Refresh Mailbox

    Yesterday I had some work done by an AOL tech and today, I have no favorites and my "mark unread" button doesn't work. When are you going to get this new AOL gold fixed? I never had these problems before I switched to GOLD. It ****.

    Please make sure you have the latest AOL Desktop Gold version by clicking the “Help” button on the top, right corner of the window, and selecting " About AOL" from the drop-down menu. In the middle of the “About AOL” window, you’ll see the version you have installed.

    If the version is lower than 11.0.1648, keep the AOL Desktop signed in for at least 20 minutes then close and reopen the software. The update should automatically upload.

    Then run the import wizard by following the steps in the help article below.
