  2. KEEP BROWSER MINIMIZED

    Upon opening AOL Desktop Gold I was able to have a minimized browser so the whole program did not take up the whole screen. However, currently when I go to open the program, the whole screen is maximized and I have to also manually open up my mail. Whereas, before the mail would automatically open up within the minimized browser. Need help fixing this

    If an email has been detected or manually marked as SPAM, you should see that email in your spam folder. You can then move that email to the inbox of any other mail folder you choose.

  8. Why, when I click permanently delete on spam folder items, do they go to the recently deleted area instead of deleting them permanently?

    Why, when I click permanently delete on spam folder items, do they go to the recently deleted folder instead of deleting them permanently? The box says they will be deleted permanently and asks again if I'm sure I want to do that. I click yes but they end up in my recently deleted. If it's in the spam folder and I click to permanently delete it then that's what should happen. It used to be that way and was wonderful.

    1. Open Settings
    2. Click Mail (in the left column)
    3. Select the Advanced Tab
    4. Check the box: "Permanently delete mail I indicate is spam"
  9. ERROR: NOT A LEGITIMATE ADDRESS

    Lately I've been seeing this ERROR sign when deleting emails in my spam folder. If it's no a legitimate address why is it even getting through?

  10. Home Depot emailed me 3 times today 1/28/25 didn't receive them. Wife emailed me from ther smart phone and it went to spam. what is going on

    Home Depot emailed me three times today/ 1/28/2025. I did not get the emails. My wife emailed me from her Smart Phone and it went into my spam folder. What is going on ?

  11. quick print gone

    Just had to install aol desktop gold on a new windows 11 computer. Unlike my aol on older computer, this new version does not have quick print option anymore. Why was this taken away, can it be put back. Quick print output is a bit different (and better) than doing through print/preview and takes less time.

    Unfortunately, there is new functionality in Windows 11 that breaks our ability to do quick print. They are now pushing all print jobs into their own print preview window which doesn't work for many applications. We are working with them to try and resolve this issue.

  12. Blocked incoming mail....HELP!

    I inadvertently marked Walmart and Humana mail as spam. Now I cant even receive mail from either which contains "verification codes" that I need to visit those sites. Is there any way to unblock those two sites from sending me email, appreciate any help, please?

    Your email from senders you had previously marked as SPAM will be in your spam folder. Look in your spam folder and click the "Not Spam" button. You may have to do this several times in order to prevent the emails from going directly to spam but they will start to go to your inbox.

  13. Delete vulgar photos on welcome screen

    Right now it's 2:31 am ET and I've just signed on to aol desktop gold. In the upper right corner there is a large ad by Temu. In the ad is a picture of a dish/tray/Godonlyknowswhat which is obviously in the shape of a man's genitalia. It's disgusting and I expect better of aol than this.

    This is one of the many ways that our membership security team keeps you safe. If we suspect that you may be the target of some type of bad behavior (phishing etc.) we will sometimes prompt you to pass some extra security steps before giving you access to your account.

  15. leave spam and recently deleted mail deleted

    why after deleting my spam folder do to 3 to 5 days before. I delete my spam and recently deleted mail everyday. recently deleted and I delete them from there only to have them appear in 3 to 4 days later and when they reappear it is for 4 or 5 days that were previously deleted. This is very annoying.

    We have investigated this issue and found that many times spam messages look very similar. This could be that multiple different messages are going to your spam folder that look similar or are identical, but from different email addresses.

    My AOL app won't open. I hae spent two nights with AOL techs who uninstall and install. Claim it works and I still can't get anywhere. Has there been an update from windows or microsoft that is interring??? All I see are ads to set up outlook which I do not want.

    There was an issue with a Windows update that caused an issue similar to this. The latest update of AOL Desktop Gold should have addressed the issue. Go to Help -> Check for updates to make sure you are on the latest version.

  17. Next time you have an upgrade try not to have it affect access

    A weeks ago on AOL a popup came up about an upgrade and I clicked it on and after that, I was not able to access AOL from the icon I have on my desktop. Your support team worked on this but when we kept trying to access it again from desktop again, it wasn't opening as it should

  19. system unresponsive and the e-mail inbox window does not refresh after overlayed with another window

    After I login to AOL Desktop gold the AOL system is hanging and unresponsive for about 30 seconds before it becomes responsive again. Also when I click on read e-mail the AOL desktop system becomes unresponsive again and hangs for about 30 seconds before email displays. It does not appear the e-mail has been refreshed. ALso when I open an email to view the contents and then close the email, the email inbox listing screen contents is wiped and not refreshed automatically after it is overlayed with another window. I have to click on read email again to be able…

    In some cases users have inadvertently click on Report Spam for some emails. Please check your Spam folder. Please also be cautious as Walmart verification codes are known to be one of the ways that bad actors online try to steal your identity. Only open mails you know are from Walmart directly or come from an email address that ends in "Walmart.com". Any other email address should be considered suspicious.
