   I appreciate that you believe people are not "anti-trans”, Dave

   However, given all the negative, demeaning, and often downright vile comments posted regarding trans people… I’d say that there are more than just a few who are not merely “anti-trans”… they’re anti-trans people!

   And while it may sound very reasonable and responsible for someone to say they’re against “pushing [trans surgeries] onto the children”… I’d challenge you to provide even one example of that happening! Not to say that has NEVER happened... but extremely rarely!

   Generally, the medical community agrees that if hormone therapies are recommended, that they begin prior to puberty to be most effective if chosen for the long term... because if started later, they may not result in as successful a transition… while stopping them will reverse the process with no apparent ill effects.

   However, that same strategy does not apply to surgeries! Which no one is recommending until much later into adulthood.

   As far as “just leave the kids alone”…

   It’s virtually always the children who bring up the issue in one way or another! And I’d say that it’s up to parents to respond to that with just as much compassion, concern, and responsibility as they would to any other issue!

   Doing so does not mean they’re “pushing it onto the children”… it simply means they want what’s best for their child… whether others recognize and agree with it… or not!

   But you're certainly not right either!

   Trans people are caught in a dilemma... they either live in a body that doesn't represent the gender of who they are... or, they're able to live that gender, but have to do so in a society which rejects them!

   Neither situation is ideal... but, which would you choose?

   And, if you chose the latter, wouldn't the problem be solved if the people around you were to accept you the way you are... rather than be self-righteous, judgmental, and ridicule and reject you... as so many people do!

11. How about one of your "help" desk people being able to get me into my AOL account! I've called two days in a row and have gotten no help!

    Bring your call center back to the U.S. for a start! Have supervisors available to speak to customers when the regular agent can do not a **** thing to help you. AOL is holding my account *******! Are you trying to go out of business????

    Try listening to your customers and stop refusing to allow them to send AOL proof that aol screwed up and deleted my account that I need to live via a S.S. case. NO one there cares and I have bad seizure disorders which I documented you are making worse by not allowing me to have access to the account all this is on.     The way I see the situation, Judge McGuire is way off base on several counts… by interjecting the legally irrelevant issue of same-sex marriage, while failing to take into account existing laws that are LGBTQ “blind”, so to speak.

    1) On the federal level; the 2015 Supreme Court case Pavan v. Smith found that it was unconstitutional to treat queer couples differently than heterosexual couples in presuming parentage. If married heteros are presumed to be parents of children born during their marriage, the same must be true for LGBTQ+ couples.

    2) On the state level; Same-sex marriage and adoption have been legal since 2014 when a U.S. District Court for Oklahoma ruled the state’s ban on same-sex marriage, and any "legal incidents thereof conferred upon unmarried couples or groups," as unconstitutional. Following that decision, supported by the Tenth Circuit Court and SCOTUS, Oklahoma began allowing same-sex marriages.

    3) Also on the state level; Oklahoma Statute, Title 10. Children, §10-552. Status of child, states, “Any child born as the result [of ***** donation] shall be considered at law in all respects the same as a naturally conceived legitimate child of the husband and wife.”

    Williams’ attorney, Robyn Hopkins, explained it best; “Kris is on the birth certificate of this child and they were married,” further clarifying, “They were married. Marriage is legal. Same sex marriage is legal in the state of Oklahoma. And they had a child. So, there’s a child of the marriage!”
