Give us back the 9.8 features in Gold
Bring back desktop themes, stationery and emojis for mail, allow us to set up Favorites like we want them, make icons for toolbar available. Most of the time when I'm typing a e-mail, the type doesn't keep up with me and thus missing letters or words. Give us back all the features of 9.8 because Gold is seriously lacking most everything.

I pay for AOL Gold...and agree that it's HORRIBLE. When I call-I get put on hold for 20+ minutes, the system yesterday sent me an email saying I wasn't AOL Gold and offered me a 30 day trial. REALLY? After paying month after month, I don't even get recognized as a paid subscriber? This is ABSURD, disgusting and I, too, believe that it makes no sense to pay for something that I can't even get and receive email on properly...

I will join with everyone else and say that after being a paid subscriber with Aol since 1999 the current version of Aol Gold is the worst that has ever been released. and the fact that you can,t use Version 9.8 anymore is going to push me into cancelling my subscription. And all the ads blocking the content of the news stories. This is infuriating to me. I hate the new Aol

The OATH tech folk running AOL GOLD are a shining example of cyber and marketing ineptitude on a global scale. Here we have a perfectly good program in AOL 9.8 which was use-proven and refined over many years with mostly happy, satisfied customers. 2017: The current "Team" at AOL GOLD appear to be as dense as lead. They are scrambling to cobble together an AOL clone type 9.8 program. But, mostly all they have accomplished is ton of user complaints, misdirection and an army of dissatisfied PAYING customers. Their myopic revisions appear to be motivated out of frustration and desperation rather then creativity and innovation because anybody who knew anything would just fix the problems rather then offer lame rhetoric in an effort to justify their jobs.
When Oath/Verizon acquired AOL they apparently did not get the rights and/or copyright, or otherwise did not want to pay for them. In any event, AOL GOLD is not just two steps backward, its a collapse-failure altogether, mostly creating an expensive, odoriferous reputation for the OATH corporate chieftains. I have been a President and CEO and the conduct of these employees, this "Team", as it were, is embarrassingly and dangerously out of touch. Gmail and Google, et al, must certainly be having champagne over this one
When AOL Gold "Team" members open their pay envelopes, instead of a check, there should be a note that says "Coming Soon" -

Ridiculously slow. After 24 years of being a loyalist, it's time for a new internet service provider. What a terrible step "forward" for AOL. When I complained, they sold me System Mechanic, which didn't work either. I cancelled it, but they're still charging me. Who's in charge at AOL???

That's the end of AOL. Half screen pop up ads that can't be cleared while trying to read a news story is absurd, the work of a mental midget.

AOL Nearly Unresponsive today. Emails will not open quickly. Curser cannot even keep up with my typing into an email. Too many News items and popups. Just give us email only without all your gadgets, and do not try to charge us more for reducing or stopping the news and popups.
I really would like for you to tell us when we can expect these improvements. Please... You had a pretty good product until you went to this "Gold" version.

I believe there is no one home at the end of the line. No one at AOL reads these complaints except perhaps to get their daily chuckles. Certainly not to take them seriously and re-evaluate the disaster called GOLD.

The "Team" at Oath appear to be a bunch of excuse making, inept, incompetent, nincompoop twits.

One of the main problems with AOL GOLD is it does not get along too well with Windows 7, 10, etc. There are a number of problems with its compatibility which are obvious, but the inept techs at OATH don't seem to have the first clue with their hastily cobbled together GOLD program. They should change the name from GOLD to LEAD.

You should DUMP AOL Gold and go back to 9.8. You are constantly having problems that you don't understand how to fix.
You are wasting our (user) time as well as yours. Maybe you get paid to waste time but we do not. -

After reading these comments, it is clear that Desktop Gold has many problems and is not well liked. AOL -- are you listening? Why not bring back 9.8.2? If that version worked so well, why did you dump it and require everyone to use something that has so many problems? Why did your programmers start from scratch to create Gold instead of taking a version that worked and going from there? I'd love to hear an explanation, but probably won't receive one.

Delete/remove all of the junk, so that AOL loads easily. . . instead of waiting 5 minutes for it to load from a cold boot. The same can be said about reading messages.

This version 11.0.1579 of AOL is worse than the previous. It's slow on opening, slow on opening emails, slow on sending attached files. I still pay for your Internet and it's not worth this hassle....I cleared the cookies and the whole 9 yards. This is pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
