welcome screen no longer user friendly or useful at all -
1 - local news not even close to being local -
2 - local traffic has not loaded in apx. 2 months -
3 - click on topic + most times URL will not load -
4 - all topics , news , entertainment , finance , lifestyle , health , + etc. all default to biased , inaccurate , + outdated AOL topics - no longer does it retain users choice of providers -
5 - slow time lapse for welcome screen + email to load -
6 - TOO many adds + useless pop ups -
why have a wecome screen feature that does not welcome you with the feature that paid users prefer to use ????????????????

We appreciate your detailed feedback and we think we might have a couple of solutions for your slow performance.
Please try the following:
1. Clear the Footprints in the new AOL Desktop. Here’s how you clear the Footprints: a. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu. b. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.
2. Restart the computer. This helps clear the internal memory (RAM), which often resolves many issues. This article provides the steps to restart the PC: help.aol.com/articles/restart-the-computer
3. Enable only the essential startup programs. Multiple programs may have been set to start automatically when a computer is turned on. These programs may cause the computer to slow down, and affect other running applications. Welcome screen does not load but in the upper left corner. Enlarge it. Click on story to read. Click out. Screen blinks couple of times and reverts to smaller size. Mail does not work properly to read save or delete. Takes forever to do anything. Each time you "improve" your service you totally ***** it up.
