Can I change my display to dark with white type?
I have a 32 inch monitor because it's easier to read type. But being only 24 inches from the screen it's really bright! Recently, while on Facebook, they popped up a dark screen where everything around the pictures was reversed(!) - dark and all the fonts were in white instead of black! What a difference! So, so easy on the eyes! I kept int for my display and absolutely loved it!
Does AOL have this option? As a 30 year AOLer, I remember the old days when you could change your display. I used to use a tan and burgundy, I think. Did you remove these display options or can I just NOT find them? If so, where is it. If you don't, why not?

Since I have a cataract condition with both eyes, the bright white screen is difficult to read for me due to glare. It's a handicap that many older people get due to doing a lot of close work all their lives. It's a sign of a lot of hard work. The "bright white" background for reading areas of the screen is a general problem for the browsers and all the sites. The analogy is that just like the Sun's light obscures a view of Sun Spots, a bright white screen obscures a view of black text. Type size is not the issue, it's more like black type on white paper is ancient technology. When paper is coated, there's distinct glare problem (have you noticed?). Being employed in heavy word processing, database and accounting entry computer keyboarding for decades, it's obvious that computer system screens for reading and typing of text are FAR easier to read when you have light type on a dark background and a non-glare screen surface (they used to be glass and those surfaces reflected like a mirror--had to wear a dark shirt and attached a Polaroid screen over the monitor.
