I can't find the write email option (or compose) in the app
Surely I can initiate an email but I can't find it.

If you go to the very top of AOL Desktop you should see a mailbox on the very left that says Read under it. Right next to that to the right you will see a Write icon. You can click on Write to start an e-mail. Hope that helps.
