  1. This is the worst product you have ever produced and your customer support is horrible, CARL, & BOGDAN. Please feel free to contact me.

    The Finance tab which worked yesterday does not work today. I was told to contact Verizon which made no sense. I asked to be transferred to disconnect service and was disconnected.

    After selecting Check for Updates from the Help menu, wait 10 minutes then close and re-open the AOL Desktop Gold. To check if the latest revision update was installed, click on About AOL from the help menu and make sure you have the revision 11.0.1648. At the moment the revision 11.0.1671 is available only to our Beta software, but it will be released to the general version of the software in the following days.

  3. Sharing to social media

    The AOL Software GOLD version is the absolute worse I have used in 30 years...I want my money returned for the months we've had to deal with this ****** software

    Try using the keyboard combination Ctrl+H > check Browsing History > and click Clear Footprints

    To save a website to favorites, please follow these steps:
    1. Open your favorite website in the AOL Desktop browser.
    2. In the top right corner of the webpage, right-click on the “Heart” shaped icon then select Add to Favorites from the drop-down menu.

    To import the saved data from the old software into AOL Desktop Gold, follow the steps in the help article below.

    Although I'm sure you will group this comment with another one, I have NOT seen one positive comment about AOL Gold. My comment is to stop charging us until you get ALL the bugs out of AOL Gold.

    We take every feedback seriously and share it with the concerned team. We are updating AOL Desktop Gold every 2 weeks, please continue to send us feedback on what features you would like to see implemented.

    Currently we don’t have an estimated time frame, but we hope the majority of the features our members are asking for will be implemented soon. Keep in mind that you can always make changes to your subscription by going to mybenefits.aol.com or calling the AOL Gold team at 1-888-265-3733

  7. Footprints

    I click 'Edit', then 'select footprints to clear' and the logon to AOL box comes up. I can not clear my footprints. This worked fine earlier.

    The personal filing cabinet is stored in a local database folder, which can be opened by accessing the path below in the Windows Run box (press the Windows key + R): LOCALAPPDATA\AOLDesktopData\db"

    My computer answers:
    "Windows cannot find LOCALAPPDATA\AOLDesktopData\db".

    The correct path for the AOL Desktop Gold database folder is “LOCALAPPDATA\AOLDesktopData\db” (without quotes).

  9. When is AOL finally going to correct all the AOL Gold glitches?

    The idea is for AOL to correct all the problems with GOLD. The software should have not been released to your loyal customers like myself until it was completely ready. Gold is slow, unreliable and aggravating. Desktop shortcuts disappear, mail that shows sent is not always sent. Mail sent to me by friends and customers are not always received. Also, contacting AOL is practically impossible. The automated phone system will not accept voice responses and then I have to press 0 several times only to be connected to customer service when I wanted support. The wait time to get a…

  10. If I write about a purchase I GET SPAM EMAIL about it. Cut it out.

    stop reading my emails and then sending spam offers about the purchasing discussion within MY EMAILS.

    To permanently block these emails, you will need to adjust you Spam Controls by following the steps below:

    1. Open your Mailbox, and click on “Spam Controls” on the bottom right (below the Report Spam button).

    2. Add the email address from which you are receiving these unwanted emails in the box below the “Block mail from addresses I specify” field.

    3. Set the Blocked Mail option to “Permanently Delete Blocked Mail”

    4. Click “Save” at the bottom.

    Please note that by settings the Permanently Delete Blocked Mail option, the emails Identified as unwanted based on your Sender Filter (Block mail from addresses I specify) and Content Filter will be permanently blocked (will not go to the Spam folder), and returned to the sender as undeliverable. Before setting this option, please review the list of blocked email addresses in your Sender Filter and the list of blocked words and phrases…

  11. Since we have to download the frequent updates how do we know when to do that?

    If I didn't know about the AOL board that lists updates, which most people don't know about, how would I know when to download them?

    Whenever an update is released the AOL Desktop Gold will automatically download them.

    The bounce-back error message you provided us with, states that the CenturyLink MX server refused the emails from your IP address. This is can happen if the receiving server identified the email from you as being unwanted or spam, or your IP was temporarily rate-limited due to a high volume of emails sent from your IP to their server. If you are still experiencing this issue, please contact the Embarqmail Postmaster team in order to white-list your IP address.

  14. Saving a graphic from an email

    Now instead of just right clicking on the graphic to save it we have to go to file for that function? That is an extra step. What are you people doing to a program that was once good?? There are now extra steps to do almost everything. AOL is no longer fun. It is torture.

    Go to aol.com/portfolios and the page to the favorites or to the toolbar to easily access your portfolios.

  16. fix the emails, yeah my inbox is back but I am not getting emails I have deleted most of my inbox

    You may have resolved the missing emails but I am not receiving new emails, one or two come in very slowly from hours ago, I am waiting on an important email at this rate it might get here in a week. Then it'll be expired!

  19. STILL - NO IMPROVEMENTS IN ANY AREA OF GOLD

    14 attempts [w/three restarts ] to sign into ebay + others , constant error, message [ URL failed to load ] - slow + erratic email , email spam has increased over 10 fold in past 2 months - non existent local news - biased , outdated , + irreverent news coverage - incompetent tech support + customer service -

    1. Click the Help button on the top-right corner of the AOL Desktop window

  20. I've come to the realization that you will never fix GOLD.

    I want to be able to enlarge the type or pic in an open window to see it better. I'm old!
    I want my mail separated like it used to be:
    Still one too many windows to sign on;
    More fonts in writing e-mail selection;
    Most of the other **** you changed I really don't use.
    30 days to fix or I'm gone! Judging by complaints, you only have 500 customers left anyway or you don't post complaints.
    Maybe Bye forever, It's up to you. I'll keep my $30.

    Thank you for your feedback, will send it over to the AOL Gold desktop team, making sure the features you mentioned become a priority and will be added in the future releases. Currently we don’t have an estimated time frame, but we hope the majority of the features our members are asking for will be implemented soon.

    As you might have noticed we changed the login process in AOL Mail, to a more secure 2 step login, which helps prevent your AOL account from being compromised or hacked.
