TRASH IT!!!! FOR LAST 3-4 MONTHS I HAVE CALLED AND COMPLAINED ABOUT FAILED SERVICEIN DESTOP GOLD....I AM STILL GETTING SAME PROBLEMS OVER PA

Stupid AOL, Stupid Service, Stupid GOLD! AOL go back to the cave! browsing session not saved
nothing is working, the email are to slow, changing name doesn't means you change anything to improve the quality of AOL, you just make it opposite, and frankly and bluntly everyone in the forum said it! wht my last browsing session isnt save when the feature is on, all my tabs are eliminated when i'm closing aol and restart. every 2-5 minutes there is a pop windows that gone after second or 2 i am not sure even what the heck it is, but its there!!!

AOL states if you have an AOL Gold question to call 1-888-265-3733.
When I call 1-888-265-3733 for tech support, I usually wait some time before I am connected. I understand that there are busy times. But the problem is when I do get connected and have a tech issue, I am then forwarded to another number and have to wait AGAIN to be connected.If I call 1-800-827-6364 the first person answering my call IS a tech person and I am not transferred to another department.
The AOL Gold number is a waste of time.

I wanted to change by default font when writing an email and get rid of the search box.
I wanted to get rid of search box after signing on and wanted to change default font size when I send email. I was told neither one was possible in Gold. I don't know if that is true or he just wasn't knowledgeable. He was nice but be didn't seem to know what he was doing. Also why do I have to call Tech Support and talk to someone who then says she has to transfer me to someone in TS as she can't help me. That has happened the last 3 times I have called AOL.

In order to change your default font type and color, please follow these steps:
1. On the top left, click on Edit.
2. Select Mail Settings from the drop-down menu.
3. Go to the “Font and Text” tab.
4. From the Write Mail section use the toolbar to change the font type, size and color.To disable the Search Window go to Edit > Startup Settings > Main Tab > uncheck the Search Window box.
The changes are saved automatically.

Sending mail, when it works, is terrible and slow. When will I be able to insert a photo in my mail signature!!!!!! RESPOND
Please follow these steps to add a photo to your signature within the AOL Desktop software:
To add a photo in the email signature open the picture in a Photo Editor (we recommend Microsoft Paint), and after using the Selection tool to select which part of the photo you want in your signature, copy the selection using the Copy function in your photo editor, or with the CTRL+C keys on your keyboard. After copying the photo selection go to the Set Mail Signatures option in AOL Desktop Gold, and paste the photo in the signature compose window by using the CTRL+V keys on your keyboard.

Gold sucks.....it needs a dictionary with a place to store important words. One should be able to change the word YOU are giving. MUCH MORE
There are soooooooooo many places we cant cut and paste. SHAME ON YOU for making us take a completely unfinished program in place of a wonderful 9.8.2 WE NEED A WORKING DICTIONARY...AND IMMEDIATELY. Impossible to store or psychical change any words that you supply. Where do I begin??? So much is inferior compared to the previous versions!!!
1.Compose OFF-LINE and place in mail-waiting-to-be-sent
2.Attach multiple photos to an e-mail instead of one at a time
3.Copy and paste WORD docs into an e-mail exactly as they appear in WORD. Now the doc has to be almost entirely corrected and re-formatted in the e-mail. WHY???
4.Need the entire list of screen names with # of e-mails in each
5.INBOX tab is superfluous and unnecessary. Get rid of it
6.E-mail fonts are limited and restrictive. Return all of the previous version options
7.Restore stationery option with postcard and background art choices

Find in Top Window is designed to work only when having a web-page or email opened on the screen. The Find in Top Window option will be grayed out when no web-page or email is opened on the screen (it will not work in the mailbox window).

Another problem - there is no Enlarge feature under the Edit section - where did it go?
The old 9.8 and earlier versions had an Edit button that made it easy to navigate. Now we have a bunch of symbols, and there's nothing that I find to enlarge the item chosen. No symbol works to enlarge something! Make things user friendly and easy to navigate again. I've been on AOL for 21 years and was used to things being the same from version to version, and now you had to make them difficult and complex.
The enlarge option under “Edit” menu is called “Zoom”. You can enlarge the font on any webpage you have opened.

The "Read" mailbox icon or the "New" tab doesn't refresh the view.
The "Read" mailbox icon or the "New" tab doesn't refresh the view to make the mail already read go to the "Old" tab.
Try refreshing the mailbox. Click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen and select Refresh Mailbox from the drop-down menu.

We tried your experience on our side and we are unable to replicate it. Please clear your footprints and re-open the welcome screen.
Here’s how to manually clear the Browser Footprints:
1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.
2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.Afterwards, please check if the correct email address appears in the comment section.

Go back to 9.8.2 code and scrap the Gold. Should not have to pay for a poor product.
Right-click on the email address from the CC or BCC field, select Copy, then right-click inside the TO field and select Paste.

You can manage your AOL pop-ups by going to the Edit tab, then to Browser Settings and from here to Pop-ups. By checking the radio buttons you can manage your preferences, you don’t need to save your settings, this is done automatically.

In addition to agreeing with virtually all comments that I saw for improvement please see the following comments.
There are too many key strokes required on a number of items: 1. The old system allowed the e-mail list to open automatically on sigh on so no strokes were required. 2. The "folders" window opens automatically when the mail window is open. I do not want to see the folders window unless I activate it myself as I used to be able to do. 3. when saving an e-mail there are two boxes that must be closed upon completion. After 23 years as a paid user of AOL, I find your 24/7 support had done more harm that good. Perhaps if they spoke better English. I've been paying $12.00 a month for over 20 years now. I believe it's time to part ways.
