  1. New chatroom for folks over 60 from 60s PLUS LOVE 1 We would love to go to this room as the room you have on GOLD same name w/o the 1 !

    I would like to quote someone in a chatroom that i used to love to go to.     The issue you are experiencing might be caused by the number of contacts you have in your address book. In the general list of contacts you can add up to 5000 contacts and 300 in each one of your distribution lists. If the problem occurs when trying to add a contact in the general list, please try to delete a few unnecessary/unwanted contacts before adding a new one, and if the problem occurs when adding the contact in a group that already has 300 contacts, please create an additional group (you can add up to 100 groups) where you can add more contacts.

    It is possible that some contacts were saved offline in the old AOL Desktop (version 9.8 or lower). Since the option to export the address book from the old AOL Desktop is not available, we recommend opening the Address Book in from the old AOL Desktop (there is no need to sign in, in order to open the Address Book) and after retrieving the missing contacts, manually add them in AOL Desktop Gold (they will be saved on the server, and can be accessed from different devices)

  5. Where is the crop picture option?

    We used to be able to click on a picture in email and not only resize it but crop off excess bits of it. Now we have to highlight and pull to make it larger or smaller, but there is no crop option. We still can't insert backgrounds, font choices are still limited to just 10, you often can't cut and paste from one place to another, when forwarding an email there are blue lines on the left margin that can't be eliminated. I know you don't care that 99,9% of us hate this aol gold, but we have continued…

    In order to use the crop image option, please follow these steps after embedding an image in the Write mail window:

    1. Click on the embedded image from the Write mail window.
    2. Select the Edit Image button below the picture.
    3. Click on the Crop button on the top left corner of the image.

  6. UNTIL YOU IRON OUT ALL THE BUGS THERE SHOULD BE NO CHARGE OF $4.99 WHERE THE **** IS THE REFRESH BUTTON ON THE GOLD

    WHERE THE **** IS THE REFRESH BUTTON AND THE ICON TO FORWARD A WEB PAGE TO SOMEONE, ON THIS NEW GOLD. NO CHARGE OF $4.99 SHOULD BE REQUIRED UNTIL YOU CORRECT ALL THE ISSUES. GIVE BACK 9.8.2 UNTIL YOU HAVE A BETTER PROGRAM TO OFFER. THIS IS A RIP OFF AND I'LL BE LEAVING AFTER THE FREE 30 DAY TRIAL UNLESS THESE THINGS ARE FIXED.

    To refresh a webpage, right-click anywhere inside it and select Refresh from the pop-up menu. In a URL for a website, first open the webpage then click on the Heart shaped icon on the top right corner of the page and select “Insert in Mail” from the pop-up menu.

  7. Newest Update??

    I just noticed (looking at "About AOL") that there has been another update. Exactly what has been changed? I have seen NO changes. Still the same problems. Does AOL ever send out a notice as to what the "updates" are? That would be helpful.

    The latest update (Revision 11.0.1567) contains several fixes for the autosave affecting typing speed when composing mail, improved performance for performing actions on many items in mail, incorrect mail count and mail not listing in folders.

  8. Don't make the "bold" icon disappear when I use it. Same for other icons.

    Keep the BOLD, ITALICS and underline icons visible after I've used it.
    I want to add my picture to my signature....
    I want to see the "attachment" advance so I know it's working.
    I want to be able to begin writing another email while an existing email is posting.
    I want the icons to and directions to be in darker print. I have vision problems.

    GOLD is NOT BETTER....

    Thank you for your suggestions. Currently, we don’t have an estimated time frame, but we hope the majority of the features our members are asking for will be implemented soon.

    To add a photo in the email signature open the picture in a Photo Editor (we recommend Microsoft Paint), and after using the Selection tool to select which part of the photo you want in your signature, copy the selection using the Copy function in your photo editor, or with the CTRL+C keys on your keyboard. After copying the photo selection go to the Set Mail Signatures option in AOL Desktop Gold, and paste the photo in the signature compose window by using the CTRL+V keys on your keyboard.

  9. I want to delete my E-mails. After I read and E-mail, I often want to respond to it later.

    Do you already have a place I can check off that will allow my E-mail to remain untill I decide to delete them

    The emails are not deleted automatically in AOL Gold. Once you read them, they are moving in your Inbox from New to Old. You can pick them up from here and respond to them or delete them later.

  10. Gold is terrible.

    Since Gold has been instituted it takes me 2 or 3 times to sign in. Also, I often have to click on websites many times before they open. Gold was supposed to be the answer to all of AOL's site problems. It isn't. Please fix all the bugs. I pay for AOL each month - that's right I'm a dinosaur - and I can't see paying for AOL anymore with all the past and present problems.

    Try to clear the footprints in order to solve these issues.

    Here’s how:

    1. In the top left corner of the AOL Desktop window, click “Edit” then choose “Select Footprints to Clear” from the drop-down menu.

    2. Select “Clear Footprints” from the Browser Settings. No need to wait for a confirmation message, the Footprints will be cleared immediately.

    Try refreshing the mailbox. Click on the Mail option on the top of the desktop screen and select Refresh Mailbox from the drop-down menu.

  13. icons in the carousel can't recover

    member wasn't able to see the icons up above the carousel ! if there is only way for us to keep it despite of loosing the previous installation please help us !

    AOL DataMask Screenshot Issue

    When I use DataMask and try to make a screenshot on Dell’s website, it would not work. And, I did put an X in the appropriate screen block option and also selected Exit in the notification area. Furthermore, I can make a screenshot on any other website or document. I use Windows 10 and AOL Gold.

    Below is one Dell’s website where I could not make a screenshot.

    Besides disabling DataMask, please also turn off the Screen Capture Protection from within AOL Desktop Gold. To do that, follow these steps:

    1. Open AOL Desktop Gold and sign on.

    2. Click on the Edit button on the top left corner.

    3. Select General Settings from the drop-down menu.

    4. Go to the Premium Security tab.

    5. Uncheck “Enable Screen Capture Protection” (changes as saved automatically).

    Issue 2: The message I received when I up-graded to AOL Desktop Gold says the four names on my subscription (besides my primary name djFilimon) are recognized for Gold access. However, when I attempt to log on the names the log-on attempt hangs up and will not connect. Why?

  17. My problem(s) with GOLD AOL.

    1,..do not let to know who sent the original email, no address in
    it, please
    2,..put back "letter to wait to be send" where it was before, or changed
    its name (Drafts) for itopen them!
    3,..leave out "Advance User Mail", people who DO NOT read or write
    English, afraid to open my emails,because they see not who sent it
    and DELETE all of them without
    4,..not register my password, it have to repeat it all the time!

    When writing an Email why can i not click once on "subject" and start typing. I always end up typing the Subject in the text instead. 9.8.3 was not this way!!
