  3. Provide actual customer service.

All of my posts to the news articles are being summarily rejected. I have not been able to get a reason why. The 'chat' feature said I should call the help line. The help line techs said they only deal with email problems, that I should post 'feedback'. And yet, "This forum is not monitored for any support-related issues."
Just try to find any way to get meaningful support on this site. Does AOL have any real idea what 'customer support' actually means?

  4. Discrimination

AOL participates in cell discrimination. AOL does not permit you to set up an account unless you have a cell phone. Providing them the number is required so they can send you a text to verify your identity. Millions of people (like me) do not have or want a cell phone and therefore we are barred from setting up an AOL account. AOL is not in the best of shape financially, you would think they would remove obstacles to people interested in setting up accounts with them.

  6. Upgrade Service

I tried several times to get help adding AOL mail to my android cell. Each time I was told that I had to subscribe to a service and pay an annual feel. The service techs were only sales people and offered no useful info.

  7. Make canceling subscriptions easier to find.

I inherited my AOL account from a previous user who subscribed to the ad-free paid subscription for $4.99/mo. Since I have started using the account, every time I log in to view my emails I get a pop up message stating that I need to update my payment method and that there is a balance due. Since I don't want this service and have not updated my payment method, I figured AOL would cancel the subscription for nonpayment at some point. But here we are two months later and I am still getting the "Update payment method" messages. I have…

  8. GET OVER YOUR TDS

AOL and other news outlets need to get over their TDS. Over half of the country voted for this president and he is doing a fabulous job. We had four years of nothing before that.

  9. Email login changes are irritating

It now takes me five clicks to reach my AOL email. It used to take only 2-3 clicks.

  10. Spam Limits

Currently, you limit blocked spam addresses to 1,000. This is not enough. Please remove this limit. Also, please allow blocking of domain addresses not just full email addresses. I get hundreds of spam emails from the same domain address but have to block them individually. Please allow blocking of domains.

  12. Verification code not sent

You've allegedly sent some 20 verification codes to my mobile, but NOT ONE has arrived. Thanks for blocking my access to my account in Firefox and for never responding to my email. Your service is the pits.

  14. Need to check your advertisements before posting. Snoopy weather Vain is a rip off. Not anything like shown on the advertisement. Bad Bus

Poor judgement on AOL's advertisement department. Before you advertise make sure what your clients are advertising is what the customer gets. People beware of banner advertising on AOL

  15. Pogo games/AIM/Chatroom

The masque games are not the same as Pogo games. The pogo games were so much better and more entertaining. Also, bring back the AIM and chatrooms. You would have more members joining, I can guarantee. In the game chatrooms, people talk how the classic pogo games, aim, and chatrooms were so much better.

  16. Advertisers aren't getting their money's worth; you target the wrong people!

I am a WOMAN who lives in an APARTMENT. I have no need for many of the services I receive paid advertising emails for. Since you collect info from browsing history, I would assume you have statistics on your members. As someone who owned a media business for 40 years (now retired), and AOL being a pioneer in the online industry, I would think you would have a better grip on targeting who receives which email blasts. I don't need erectile dysfunction medication, Ukrainian women, kitchen remodeling and a whole host of other wasteful ads.

  17. Many UNSUBSCRIBE LINKS on unwanted types of mail don't work

Having owned a media business for 40 years (now retired), I know that proper procedure for any email advertisements should have a working UNSUBSUBSCRIBE link. Many of the advertisers you accept do not have a working link. My browser or my internet service (Spectrum) will tell me that the page is not secure or that it's not safe. Inexcusable for a company like AOL. I've been with AOL since its inception and find it ridiculous that you don't check on these things before you allow paid email blast to post.

  18. Fake Ad on AOL, related to cure for dementia with Dr. Ohsumi

On June 9, 2026, I saw an ad on AOL that promoted a new, simple method for preventing dementia. I clicked on that ad, and got into one of those long videos that go on forever, before they tell you what the product is. This one featured a Doctor named Ohsumi. I watched the video until the end, and saw that they were selling a supplement that was supposed to help prevent/cure dementia. I checked further about this product, and it turns out it was a fake video -- there was no Dr. Ohsumi, and the celebrities in the ad…

  19. Ads are not email! It's not enough that you put every form of ad AROUND my screen? Now you put ads IN my inbox???

Ads are not email! It's not enough that you put every form of ad AROUND my screen? Now you put them IN my email in-box. The more you do this, the less time I spend on AOL.

  20. Kill the extra ads

With all due respect I pay for the privilege of using your service (Gmail is free) I shouldn't have to pay more to have a "new mail" screen devoid of ads. Kill the ads or lose this long-standing customer of your service
