Recently I started receiving a lot of spam, some are very nasty. How can I stop this?
Stop the spam.
Hi there,
While most spam should be caught by our Spam filters, occasionally some can slip through. If that does happen it's very important to mark the email as Spam. It lets our system learn that messages from a specific place are not good and helps us make AOL Mail even better at recognizing future spam emails. Additionally, you can create filters to send specific emails to Trash, on the webmail at mail.aol.com and they will work while on the app as well. Here's how to create filters: https://help.aol.com/articles/aol-mail-mail-settings

People also need to be aware Yahoo just sold AOL to an Italian company Bending Spoons & who knows what will then happen to years worth of data that has been compiled by snooping into our emails

I find it outrageous that Yahoo and AOL are scanning my incoming and outgoing emails for content and then you sell that data to third parties to then advertise to us on this illegally obtained personal information. You need to make customers much more aware of this intrusion into our personal lives and you need to make it much easier to opt out of your so-called advertisement cookies other tracking tools

I don’t know about anyone else but honestly the spam is getting out of hand, so much that I’m starting to move my accounts to a different email so I can delete this one.

Btw the hoops it just made me jump through to leave feedback just now was completely ridiculous. Anyway. 95% of my notifications from this app are now news articles, ads for things you’re trying to get commission by selling, and celebrity gossip. I used to have them on because it wasn’t that bad, but now I’ve had to turn them all off.

I have been on aol since i was young (KOL)! Loyal user and my only other personal email! I still remember my original password too. But i use it for a new streaming service and i can’t even receive the code to verify my email. All i get in my inbox are perverted “ladies” (probably bots) sending messages for money. I’m an adult now 25. And im done with AOL. Cost me 12$ today for nothing unfortunately:(

Every day, I get more and more. I mark SPAM and delete and they come back the next day. And the few that are not SPAM continue to go to SPAM mailbox. I routinely get 24-30 SPAM emails every day. Tighten up your criteria!

Fox didn’t pay Dominion 800 million for delivering the news. They admitted in court they lied because they feared losing their bigoted ignorant cult viewers to other rogue propaganda networks. Like all cults facts don’t matter. They like the violent bigot.

Why are blatantly OBVIOUS spam emails suddenly flooding my inbox? Do you have to upgrade to the paid plan to get any spam filters? If this is the case, off to Gmail I go. 😒

Ads should stay deleted once deleted. NOT immediately pop up again. Spam and unsolicited emails are NOT “conversations” when deleting them. Do not call them as such.
