  1. AOL Gold browser freezes up, locks, won't load even it's own pages

    Really? I have to close the browser, and completely reboot my computer to get this browser to work properly? While this one is busy not doing anything, using half a gb of ram, I can open AOL Shield and go to the website I can't get Gold to open. Geesh, almost 300 revisions now and it's still a pain in the .............

  2. Sudden need to sign in each time

    After being signed in all day, now when I close AOL Gold, I have to sign back in instead of automatically having the browser open. Then my personal favorites are missing in the task bar, Edit settings doesn't work and I end up having to restart the PC to only have to sign back in again which fixes the "favorites on the task bar, but I get the "welcome, etc. sounds each time. Mail isnt impacted. I reset the sound by disabling them, now every time I have to sign in. Why?

  4. AOL Browser problems

    AOL Browser problems are enough to make a preacher's wife cuss, and I should know because I was one for 25 years! Talk about testing my patience!!! Here goes: 1) Once I click on the aol icon, it takes far too long to get even the first signin screen. 2)Once I enter my password, God only knows what response I'm going to get. So far - today alone - I have signed on, only to have a '118 error - timed out' screen pop up repeatedly. The only way I could close aol was by using the task manager. 3)…

    The AOL games are not working even though we already have updated the flash player. We also did try to refresh the AOL server by uninstalling and re-installing the software. Also, tried to turn off the anti-virus, but still having the same issue.

    this sequence does not work:
    Use the Browser Password Manager as a secure and easy way to manage your online passwords and credentials.

    Enable or disable the Password Manager
    1. Log in to AOL Desktop Gold.
    2. Click the Settings icon Image of the Settings icon. .
    3. Click the Browser option on the left-side of the window.
    4. Click the Passwords tab.
    5. Select 'Offer to save passwords I enter on the web'.
    6. Exit out of the Settings window.

    Chat room is freezing up. When someone responds to your comment on a given topic and you want to reply by clicking "View in Conversation," you cannot get back to the other person's response. And the chat room keeps freezing up and pausing even when typing a comment.

  13. Aol Browser and FB posting not working!!!!!

    Here I go again...another freeze up of AOL and a shutdown of my FB when I go to post something. This has been an ongoing issue for over 1 year and been reported to the government. Was given FREE aol for a few months and problem remains. Fix the **** thing or I am back to complaining with the government!

  14. AOL Gold......I mean "OOPS"

    After more than 600 revisions to this defective browser (since I got duped into signing up) it still crashes all of the time and won't open websites, even after I just had them open moments ago. They finally got the browser to open up and start without crashing, but almost daily I have to completely reboot my computer in an attempt to get this horrible thing to even attempt at working properly. I see they are now offering a "Pro" version of AOL Shield....hmmm. I wonder if that one will operate without crashing all of the time.....

  15. Will Aol Desktop Gold be impacted by Census updating some security features on census.gov that are effective 10/11/2022?

    Will my Aol browser continue to work with the security updates to Census.gov going into effect on 10/11/2022?

    The current password manager doesn't offer to save on many websites, and it doesn't allow manual inputs. Users must continue to use paper and pencil to store the majority of their passwords.

    Suggest fixing your password manager or allowing use of other password manager programs.

  18. password saving STILL not working properly

    I've seen the Question "Save this password?" come up when adding a new URL login. So I know it CAN WORK - sometimes.

    BUT -

    I had changed my password for a site. The AOL browser tried to use the old one, and of course it failed. I entered the new password, but it was NOT SAVED, it continued to use the old one, I continued to enter the new one, to no avail - the old password was NOT replaced.

    Went to SETTINGS.- BROWSER - PASSWORDS, the box is Still checked.
    I DELETED the site's entry and stored password,…

  19. Changed Passwords not being saved

    Thank you for not closing this.. See my Post below

    When I do a changed password, I never see the "Do you Want to Save this new Password" (or some such check-off), and of course the old passwords keeps coming up..

    IE, Edge, Firefox & Chrome all work as expected - not AOL's Browser.
