All other organization accept receiving a notification at Abuse@Corp Name. Why does AOL not do the same ?

Just received an email which said if I didn't update my AOL info my account would be closed in three days. But they forgot to make their email address look like AOL: It came from:
PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND STOP THESE HACKERS.

My AOL account and email was hacked into. My supplier called and informed me he received an email from my AOL email address, using my first name and verbiage similar to what was in a legitimate email I had sent to him previously.
I have reset my password, but how can this happen?
