When I want to check the STATUS of an email I've sent, I get an error message saying"Currently Unavaiuilable". WHY?

Put back the "status" icon on sent mail.

Gmail gives you a receipt for your outgoing mail that has been read...... so why am I here when you took the Status button away from us?? No more Buddy List. No more Instant Messages. Chat rooms no longer work and many other things don't work. Did I mention the terrible browser and all the eds everywhere you turn?

Why did AOL do away with the "status" button on email? Now you cannot tell if your email has been read or received. AOL seems determined to keep taking away services until nothing is left. Is that the plan?

9/10/18: Gmail has receipts for your sent mail so you can see when they were read. If you send someone a link in your email to them, Gmail also shows you if they went to the link. FAR BETTER than AOL where now you can no longer see if someone read your mail.... or if they even received it at all!

You are so right. We are all suffering with this new AOL version. Not only doesn't it function right in any respect, but they have taken away from us everything that was good.

Please return the "check status" button/option in AOL Mail. It's very handy and I used it repeatedly. Why did you mess with something that didn't need to be messed with?

Put the Status button back!

I will be forced to go to Gmail if the status button is not put back. The status button is the main reason I have not left AOL. One by one every good thing is being taken away from us. Why are we paying for this terrible program??

This is urgent. Bring back the status button. What am I paying for if one by one every good feature is taken away? Status button is critical for me for many reasons. One reason being is that it is the only way I can see if my emails were read/RECEIVED because AOL is not delivering all of our emails even tho those emails are being listed in our sent folder.

Below is the comment and your reply. There is no drop down menu. I work placing animals from a shelter and it is urgent that I see status of my sent mails which could be the life or death of an animal.

SO now I can't even check the status of my sent mail? Gold continues to stink and get WORSE get rid of it!!!!!!!!! We pay THEN the advertisers pay and i am SO SICK OF THE ******, distracting ads. Just what am I paying for as a customer over MANY YEARS. Apparently my opinion doesn't count or as it appears neither does any other customer or users count. My money can't be spent elsewhere better and more enjoyable than here anymore.... Makes me sad.

When checking sent mail there was a button to see if/when the mail was read if the person is on AOL. As of today it is gone. AOL mail (with all it's many other problems) is useless to me without this feature. Please restore it. Every change makes something worse and less useable. Without this feature I am thinking to going to Gmail instead.

Please bring back sent email status option so I can see if sent mail is read or unread.

I totally agree and find it hard to deal with the incoming mailbox now because I don't know which mails I've read and have saved as new for further action. Very confusing. Please put it back to the way it was.

system changes made Sept.7 are very upsetting to use AOL. What has been lost is the ability to note on New Mail that a message has been read.

There used to be a "STATUS" button in the SENT Folder that would allow you to see if an email has been sent. OATH needs to bring that back in Desktop.

I noticed my AOL desktop gold does not allow me to check the status of an email I send to another AOL user. I was always able to check the status to see if an email has been read or not yet read. Now all I can see when I click on the "status" button for an email is "currently unavailable". This does me no good because I don't know if the person I sent the email to who is another AOL has read or not read my email. It also doesn't let me know for sure that the person even received my email. I don't know why this feature as I am told by an AOL supervisor has been discontinued and I'm very unhappy as a long time AOL user. Please contact me as soon as possible with an answer to this question.
