FIX ADDRESS BOOK WITHOUT CHANGING MY CATEGORY LISTS
Yesterday I spent another 4+ hours with techs because AOL Gold removed the 98 names I had in a Clovis Class of 1957 category list. They were not able to return the list to what it was before GOLD. Therefore, I had to recreate the list from scratch. As your records will show, I had to do this with an Amputee list of 200-300 names last February or March....this one took me 3 days with tech support to find out I had to recreate it from scratch which took me another two days. I have asked this to be corrected numerous times and yet it does not work. This time every time I used a grammar mark such as an &, " ", colon or semi colon, GOLD changed the category name adding things like: "A-1-, ( mark, &, '. This also happens every time I use the and symbol &. When I add a name to my category of Clovis Class of 1957-2 the box to list what category to put the new name in comes up as '57 Class. Also my 1957 Clovis Committee comes up as ' 57 committee. If I search for the categories as I have named them, there are not names in the category.
I AM SICK OF THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE USED MY ADDRESS BOOK SINCE 1998 WITH NO PROBLEMS AND WITH LARGE LISTS IN MULTIPLE CATEGORIES. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE ONLY BEEN HAPPENING SINCE THE PROGRAM WAS CHANGED TO AOL GOLD. I HAVE SUBMITTED MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND NOTHING...YES, NOTHING, HAS BEEN CORRECTED. CORRECT IT NOW WITHOUT DESTROYING THE LISTS I HAVE MADE OR I WILL HAVE A NEW SERVER!

Due to recent adjustments to the AOL Mail platform, the option to use special characters for contacts and groups is no longer available. I apologize for the inconvenience. Please use the word “and” instead of the & symbol, and instated of an apostrophe use a space. Thank you.

Please CHANGE IT BACK. You have inserted an "Email address column after contact name that is totally unnecessary & the display looks like something a kid would try doing. The email column is totally unnecessary since that info, along with all other info included in the Address Book entry, is already clearly displayed in the adjacent window. PLEASE RETURN MY ADDRESS BOOK DISPLAY TO A MORE USER FRIENDLY FORMAT!

AOL Gold Address Book is not good. Now, I've noticed all of my URLs on Home Page for contacts are gone and it will not let me save one. As I try to edit an address card by hitting Save button, it grays out but may or may not save the edit. Everywhere I placed the & symbol is now followed by junk that I have to delete. I needed to print address labels for a group and we can't do that anymore. Very disappointed in AOL Gold.

You have really messed up the address book, particularly with respect to GROUPS. I have always maintained two groups with any commonality. One was just the recipient addresses, and the corresponding one was the same set of addresses with parenthetically the name(s) of the owners of the addresses. When I try to update such grouping, AOL proceeds to add some junk like "&" in the middle of the parenthetical expression. Stop doing that! just leave the addresses as they are entered.
