Preferences for Welcome Screen and AOL Benefits
Suggesting that a possible selection in settings to disable the welcome screen appearing when signing in. I have defaulted to go directly to mail, however, there remains a default to the welcome screen in backdrop. This is rather annoying as I can still see it and my attention is then directed to the welcome screen to make an action to close it .
Another suggestion is that an alternative news source be available to AOL members to have a discounted subscription to CRTV.
This would allow members to customize their welcome screen to their preferences and would make the AOL experience so much more enjoyable which would also create possible new members and longer sign ins.
Looking forward to possible new changes!

I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who has absolutely no interest in seeing the AOL welcome screen when I only want to see my email. I've been using AOL since the early days, and it didn't use to be this way. My guess is, this is a more efficient way to crame all those ads into our brains.

America on line, is causing my computer to be VERY VERY VERY slow. EVERYthing on the computer is affected even typing in notepad, Windows File Explorer is slow, the keyboard is slow. In windows task manager there are multiple process of CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe. If I kill AOL, the PC is fast again. I have further narrowed it down to the CefSharp.BrowserSubprocess.exe which is generated when the Welcome Screen in AOL is opened. If I close the Welcome window inside of AOL, the computer is again, fast. I am running Windows 10, Intel i7 core processor 2.8gHz, with 16 gb of Ram and ALL solid state drives.
PLEASE someone tell me is there a way to sign in and NOT have the welcome screen pop up?
Are there any settings/preferences for the welcome screen? Maybe I and adjust and get speed back. I'm aware I can close it, but I'd rather have it just not open. Again, please email me direct with suggestions Janning197@aol.com

Phil got the right idea
"Please for the the love of god put a setting to enable full screen of the mailbox window when opening and add an option to disable the aol home page window"
I agree with both Tammy and Phil. IMHO, AOL Gold for Windows 10 is very resource intensive, forcing videos when not wanted or needed. This is great if a user has a high speed connection, what about those users who live in remote areas where high speed Internet has yet to come. Yes, AOL, there are places right in the good old USA that do not have high speed Internet. Perhaps your research and IT teams need to go to the remote areas of the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, and other rural areas and speed a week there using AOL Gold to fully understand the issues rural areas experience.
What about users who only use AOL Gold for email. We don't want video, we want our email, full screen, on load like Phil mentions.
Please include the options to disable the AOL Welcome (home) screen and enable full screen mail box on AOL Gold. Why do you think users use browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Internet Explorer, Opera, Vivaldi and others to open their mail. As AOL knows, there are many issues using the aforementioned browsers such as font sizes changing when sending emails and other issues that they continue to tell us, use AOL Gold.
Here it is six months after Tammy and Phil posted their comments and no comments on considering these features for future development.
Please put a setting to enable full screen of the mailbox window when opening and add an option to disable the aol home page window
