treat your customer better
I woke up this morning and found out my AOL Gold service had been canceled after 2 years of use. I call and asked why and the only answer is this is a paid service. I asked when and was told since last year which was news to me, and I was told in order to have my aol account I would have to pay $4.99 per month. This is the second time I have dealt with AOL and ran into this kind of treatment. The first time I had a problem it was getting emails and was told that the only way it will be fixed was to subscribe to $10 per month service. I did with the intention to cancel after 30 days, I forgot. About 1 year latter call and canceled, got letter confirming and I continue using AOL until today (2/8/19). I call customer service and was told I would have to pay the $10 or $4.99 per month to keep AOL, I was shocked. I didn't get a letter, note, email, or smoke signal about this change. I know I am only 1 customer, but I would think that a change like this I should have been notified. I asked for a free desktop sign on and told that does not exist and now all of my favorites, address book, notes, everything is gone. Its reasons like this the government has to regulate industry the customer is ripoff and the corporation does not seem to care. I will be writing the FCC, Consumer protection, and My congress people with hope that they will placed more regulations on internet companies like AOL. Maybe with Government oversight AOL will be more responsive to their customer concerns. I hope you take this note seriously because it does not seem AOL is serious about anything but making the customer unhappy and make money.
