PeopleWhiz
Another user posted about 9 months ago exactly the same experience I just had here on AOL. This user's account (and mine) is the following:
I received a "popup message" on AOL for an outfit called "PeopleWhiz" proporting that it contained hundreds and hundreds of records of people which included background, criminal and all other types of data on just about everyone in the country. I decided to give it a try and used it to search my own name and found that it contained primarily false and incorrect data, or data which pertains to other people having a similar name without any regard to associating the information to the proper person. As you "progress" through the program it tells you there is multiple criminal data and *** offender data on the name etc, etc etc, but when you get to the place where they hit you up for the cost of the report/subscription and they go to show you the data they do not show anything but tell you that you can get additional information for an additional $ charge...... I have NO criminal record of any type - yet this site wants you to believe that I do. I believe that this site is itself a criminal activity and should be banned not only from AOL but all web sites. "
This is a scam and AOL should not promote a fraudulent company that is also doing reputation harm to it's users.
