Emails: Personal File Cabinet Folders Disappeared! HELP!

PFC folders: a random selection of about half of my AOL GOLD email folders mysteriously disappeared. The AOL Service Technician advised "not stored anywhere; no way to retrieve". How can this be possible?!
I lost dozens of old emails with critical information.
Per an Internet search, this has happened to others within the past 6 months, and has been reported to AOL by others.

Have the emails simply vanished? They never even turned up in my trash. I want them back!!

    have aol mobile in my tablet. Main computer has aol gold. tablet email folders missing compared to laptop so unable to file email in folders. They do not sync. i deleted aol in tablet totally clean . Reloaded aol file folders still not sync as to folders
