PLEASE REMOVE THE MICROSOFT.NET FRAMEWORD 4.8 POPUP FROM MY COMPUTER
Can you remove and/or tell me how to remove the MICROSOFT.NET FRAMEWORK 4.8 popup AOL placed on my computer? It deactivates all forward progress unless closed or canceled and is really invasive. Thanks.
I understand this looks invasive, but .NET Framework is a Microsoft component and it has to be updated regularly for other programs to work properly, not just AOL Desktop Gold. You can continue to cancel or close the window, but at some point, you will need to update this specific component as well as part of your Windows Updates. Thanks for understanding!

I can't get NET 4.8 to load into my windows 8 ( Hew Pac PC , and SAMSUNG Laptop) . Tried AOL button and microsoft to down load NET 4.8, and even win 8.1. Neither work. Geeksquad at Best Buy say my hw is no longer supported by sw so I am unable to get all the updates in win8 to install and therefore unable to upgrade to win 8.1 .. Even though my PC and LT works fine it looks like AOL Gold I will lose on Apr 27th. I am screwed. I have to buy a new PC and LT because of AOL Gold ? You had noted that NET 4.8 is no longer optional . Why ? Please drop NET 4.8 as update required.

AOL TECH RESPONSE:
I understand this looks invasive, but .NET Framework is a Microsoft component and it has to be updated regularly for other programs to work properly, not just AOL Desktop Gold. You can continue to cancel or close the window, but at some point, you will need to update this specific component as well as part of your Windows Updates. Thanks for understanding!AOL PAYING CUSTOMER: Clicking on an AOL sent popup update on behalf of Microsoft that will re-start my computer? Then why doesn't Microsoft contact its and AOL customers if it's that Important?
"Updated regularly"? There has never been a Microsoft system update or upgrade attempted to be added via AOL, ever. This method of update addition is poorly conceived and a dangerous precedent AND PROBABLY ILLEGAL. Needed update? If that is in fact the case, AOL, should have said so in the first place RATHER THAN INVADE ITS CUSTOMERS COMPUTERS with a popup that AOL refuses to remove. You need to extend the option to your paying customers to cancel and remove this invasive popup at customer request. I don't even think what you're doing is legal, forcing a program on your paying customers requiring a computer restart before they can continue on, and then further stating that "AOL and other programs won't work properly" unless we re-start our computers to add this "update"?
In the meantime, PLEASE REMOVE THIS INVASIVE POPUP FROM MY COMPUTER OR YOU CREATE AN EX AOL PAYING CUSTOMER.
